Rep. Carlos Gimenez: "Cuba poses a security threat to the United States. President Trump has said, 'enough is enough.' We need Cuba to be democratic, free, and we need them to be a friend to the United States, not a foe."

Marco Rubio's tenure as USSECSTATE has been aptly described as "completely worthless."

One would think this gang of idiots would have more than enough on their plates at the moment, busy as their are having launched a war they are now actually managing to lose. But, hey, these are clearly highly gifted Big Thinkers.

Better yet, they've got MAGAJesus lighting the way as they help him dig that hole deeper.

America never learns lessons from the past. This 50-year old quote still applies:

"I saw a strange thing today. Some rebels were being arrested. One of them pulled the pin on a grenade. He took himself and the captain of the command with him. Now, soldiers are paid to fight; the rebels aren't."

"What does that tell you?"

"They can win."

When do Americans finally tire of imperialism, Islamophobia, or fascism?

The rest of the world certainly has.

There's no such thing as a "high level delegation" in this administration!

Next up: The US announces economic incentives of umpteen billion to be invested in Cuba, 'to help the Cubans become democratic'. Not mentioned in that announcement will be that the Trump Crime Family will be taking an interest in the largest hotels in Havana, and re-opening casinos in each. This will happen in about 3...2...1...

Only you progressives can hate that Cuba would be a friend.

Would you like it more if it was Biden doing it? Or Obama?

Why would anyone make a deal with an insane old man who routinely ignores and rips up his own previous deals?

Biden and Obama are happily retired and are now private Citizens. Exactly what Trumpy will be soon enough. (But not soon enough!)

Trumpy has a strange way of being "friends".

Let's see how friendly Trumpy actually is with Cuba before we decide whether we hate it or not.

And yes, since you asked. While I can only imagine how Trumpy will make "friends" with Cuba I would much prefer Obama's method of making friends with Cuba.

President Obama initiated a historic normalization of U.S.-Cuba relations starting in December 2014, ending over 50 years of hostility by easing travel, trade, and diplomatic restrictions. The "Cuban thaw" included restoring full diplomatic ties, reopening embassies in 2015, and Obama becoming the first sitting U.S. president to visit Cuba since 1928, in March 2016.
