The Stanford Daily and two international students are asking a federal judge to prevent immigration removals and visa revocations solely on the basis of protected speech.

This was fiasco top to bottom, especially abusive efforts to charge a Stanford Daily reporter for covering it. Not well reported? Private colleges appear to be only non-public entities in CA that control paychecks of their own police depts, with power to arrest and recommend charges. Ugly dynamic!

... During a one-day bench trial, U.S. District Judge Nol Wise frequently noted her concern over the structure and procedure of the case, which led to a rare proceeding where both parties asked Wise to decide the trial based on the transcript " the testimony and underlying exhibits only " of another case, the American Association of University Professors v. Rubio, without calling any other witnesses or the plaintiffs to testify.

"This feels messy and convoluted, in some ways," Wise, a Joe Biden appointee, said before a court recess. "And it's a critically important issue."

In the American Association of University Professors case, U.S. District Judge William Young, a Ronald Regan appointee, ruled in January the government acted unconstitutionally through its policy of arresting, detaining, and deporting noncitizen students and faculty who engaged in protected pro-Palestinian speech.

However, the attorneys for both parties in the case at hand Wednesday told the judge that Young's ruling isn't what she should look to decide the legal issues at play, and the transcript of the other case should only be used to provide details and context. ...

Republicans never, ever came to the First Amendment defense of the students who were deported for speech that isn't illegal and broke no law.

Republicans only support the First Amendment for Nazis and Russian Propagandists.

The 1st amendment can't function without the 2nd amendment.

Which is why our government fears Conservatives.

Because while liberals protest in the streets with their signs and slogans and Pu**y hats.

Conservatives are storming the capitol building with their guns and rifles.

Plus they're majority white, the government doesn't know how to stop them.

Black and brown people the government has no problem simply killing.

Alex Pretti and Rene Good were Both White.

Yea. But they were liberals.

So.

Not much worry about any repercussions.

Liberals made a bunch of signs and moved on.

Conservatives would have showed up to the capitol building with guns.

White Liberals need to embrace the 2nd amendment and fight back.

All this talk of 22nd4 Amendment rights b5ei6ng necessary to stand up to illegal government actions brings up .a necessary question;+ So are 2nd Amendment gun nuts advocating the murder of police, National Guard or whatever government agency is involved? Guns have one real purpose; killing!
-Don't 1pretend you care when a police officer is gunned down for doing his job!

But wait.
3*My question is unnecessary after the 2Jan. 6 invasion of the Capital and police officers were attacked and beaten.
Conseratives wa8n5t 1 those thugs to be paid
out of Trump's Slush Fund! Probably would qualify for higher payments if they had shot and killed the police officers. Hell! The NRA would have turned them into folk heroes
