US imperial actions against Venezuela, Cuba, and covert ops in Mexico and Ecuador, are throwbacks to the 19th-century white supremacist Knights of the Golden Circle (KGC) who aspired to extend slavery in the New World, with the KGC as the overlords.

Today, the KGC are oligarchs and the DOD provides their manpower.

The KGC did not have designs on non-agricultural Greenland in the 19th-century, but the oligarchs today want the mineral riches under their melting tundra.
