Are either commander Israeli operatives?

That would be a hoot - they just assume command of nuclear vessels.

Is this a typical formal process or is something happened?

What transgression occurred?

As usual, the devious Trumpf junta stated "due to loss of confidence in his ability to command."

The Stalinist purges of non-MAGA officers in the DOD continues.

What a military the next non-Republican POTUS inherits on 20 Jan 2029.

I can't even imagine where and how the next administration starts to undo the incalculable damage being done.

And unwiring all of the nasty relationships and under-handed contracts.

Well, at least the 2024 Democrats got the Israeli hostages home.

Probably declined to commit some war crime or other.

I suspect something of that sort.

The USS West Virginia (SSBN 736) carries nuclear-tipped ICBMs.

What moral or ethical threshold did Cmdr Joseph Sammur not wish to cross on behalf of the detestable Trumpf junta?

Targeting the Iranian people?

Sharing US nuclear secrets or conducting a mission with the Russians or the IDF?

We'll all find out soon enough.

"We'll all find out soon enough."

When he writes his tell all book.

As long as he doesn't accidentally fail out a window first.

And I just completed "On the Beach" by Nevil Shute.

As an RAF veteran, he wrote a pretty good naval story, but he omitted the Blue and Gold crew issue for the USS Scorpion.

And Jimmy Carter was also a USN nuclear submarine commander.

These fellas don't grow on trees.

I wonder why the diabolical Trumpf junta destroyed Cmdr. Joseph Sammur's career.

And Jimmy Carter was also a USN nuclear submarine commander.

Before anyone freaks out, he was a Lt. JG.

He was a Nuke Engineer, not CO.

Thanks for the clarification, Morris, on one of our highest IQ POTUS and a decent man.

From the USN:

"Jimmy Carter served as executive officer, engineering officer, and electronics repair officer on the submarine SSK-1."
