Karl Rove, the Republican strategist behind George W. Bush's two presidential campaign victories, drew the anger of President Donald Trump after announcing he was supporting a Democrat for the first time in more than three decades. Rove was the target of a Truth Social post from the president after the GOP strategist announced he was backing Democrat Jon Rosenthal for Texas Railroad Commissioner over Republican Bo French. Rove called French a "bigot" after French referred to South Asian students at the University of Texas as "foreigners" and suggested they were a "problem," the Texas Tribune reported.

"Karl Rove is so bad for the Republican Party, and completely wrong so often. He suffers from a major case of Trump Derangement Syndrome primarily because, for almost 10 years, I beat back and won against so many of the people and things that he wanted and espoused," Trump said in the Truth Social post. "Why does FoxNews [sic] and the WSJ [Wall Street Journal] keep his RINO Voice alive. The guy is a stone cold loser!"
