The New York Times obtained and reported on secretly recorded audio Wednesday that exposed Paxton for badmouthing Trump's GOP midterm convention held earlier this month, bemoaning that "everybody's numbers dropped" after the event, describing it as "not good."

The morbidly obese------------ won't take kindly to that.

Democracy requires a slate of candidates and an educated and caring cadre of voters, and one hopes that, since Texas has Talarico, the voters will show their willingness to give a Democrat a chance. So many Texas Republican Party members have to be mourning Trump's attack on Senator Cornyn.

I don't know why "rat" needs to be put in quotes when referring to a Trump loyalist. Forget the sinking ship.

Merriam Websters 2a

: a contemptible person: such as
: one who betrays or deserts friends or associates

Example sentence:
Alas, poor Bryan is about to learn the hard way that change " as the saying goes " is as hard to outrun as an ever-growing zombie rat king with 37 different limbs and a weirdly personal vendetta.

Trump and Paxton will blame each other for Mr Takaricos victory next month. I hope that even more money Trump would otherwise keep to himself will be set in fire in some parking lot in the lone star state ...

"Rat" is just mafia slang. That's all it means in this context. I'm sure Trump will feel like he's been ratted out by Paxton's truthful faux pas after Trump endlessly bragged about the success of his Trumpalooza rally.

Will Trump pull his endorsement? Doubtful. He'll just double down with some fake statistics to try and prove that Paxton was wrong.

That will be an uphill push but Trump still as 32% of the Republican die-hards who still believe him.

Chanses are Trump will just revert to his old standby . . . Fake news.
