Yikes. In a desperate-sounding video, CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper insists the Strait of Hormuz is "controlled by the United States ... not Iran" and "open for business," despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Worse, he chose to effectively stop protecting them. No counter-battery fire against drone and anti-ship missile sites. They can do whatever they want until election day.

Well, if the US has total control over the Strait of Hormuz, why isn't the number of ships going through i near the levels before Pres Trump started his war of choice against Iran?

And, as a follow-up question... why is it so expensive to transit the Strait of late, specifically, but not limited to, insurance fees?

Even if the Dems sweep Congress on Election Day, both Trump and Hegseth will continue to incompetently navigate what is going on in the Middle East. Gas and Diesel prices are going to remain very high for a long time. Unless of course, by some freak occurrence, Trump dies in the near future.
