Hochul beats Blakeman No Pardon for Trump in NY

Gov. Hochul beat Republican Bruce Blakeman Tuesday to win reelection for a second full term as governor as New York Democrats turned out in droves in a blue wave driven by President Trump's deep unpopularity. Hochul led Blakeman by a landslide with the early reporting, capping off a remarkable political comeback from her uncomfortably narrow first reelection win in 2022. "Together, New York Democrats are leading the way for a country that is hungry for progress and we're giving people a reason to believe again," Hochul told cheering supporters as results rolled in.

Hochul thanked Mayor Mamdani for "bringing a whole new energy" into her campaign and pledged to focus on affordability issues in her next term, calling out rent, grocery prices and childcare.

The governor needled President Trump for telling New York voters to pretend he was on the ballot.

"Well, Mr. President, you got your wish!" Hochul said.

Attorney General Letitia James and Controller Tom DiNapoli also cruised to easy victories in their races.

Trump jetted in for rallies alongside Blakeman on the island and upstate. With the president's approval ratings hoving in the low 30s it was far from clear to most pundits that the appearances helped Blakeman.

Over the weekend, I was in Buffalo watching my Ravens get smashed by the Bills and during tailgate time there was a MAGAt contingent of fat white guys- Bruce Blakeman groupies- driving around in a big trailer with a giant sign of Hochul wearing a Halloween costume that said "DITCH THE WITCH".

Being Bills fans, they must've gotten too used to losing to realize they would be quickly whitewashing that trailer come morning.

Yeah my neighborhood was full of "Ditch the Witch" and Blakeman signs.

One lawn had twenty of them on it.

Yeah Bills fans are chock full of magats neanderthals for years.

Sorry about what happened to Lamar. His playing style seems to have broken him. Everytime I see Allen on a snowplow or scramble I tense up.

Did you get a chance to get some good wings and beef on weck?
