Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

No one knows what Trump will do this week or in the coming two months before the new Congress is sworn in. On other issues such as the Iran war, Trump has said that nobody knows what he will do. So he almost takes pride in being unpredictable.

But in the case of the midterm elections, his being unpredictable is exactly why so many people are worried.

Remember, this is a guy who once said in a 2019 speech that article two of the constitution allows him to do whatever he wants as president.

And in February of 2025, he posted on social media, he who saves his country does not violate any law. And of course, the one who is saving the country in Donald Trump's eyes is Donald Trump.

Perhaps the biggest reason for all the anxiousness surrounding what Trump might do is that the winners of the midterm elections will need to wait 2 months before they are sworn in. and that happens on January 3rd, 2027.

A lot can happen in 2 months.

"Trump did say that he'll become Mr. Veto if Democrats take Congress, likely blocking any of the bills that the Democrats pass unless they gain an overwhelming advantage in Congress.

Although he added that at some point we'll probably make deals and one of the deals that he would be most interested in negotiating would be to take the prospect of a third impeachment off the table.

The bottom line is that even though the Democrats are very happy about the blue wave that appears to be ready to happen and the prospect of getting many of their priorities passed next year, they still have to get through the next two months before they take control of Congress.

That matters because it was just over 2 months after the 2020 election in which Trump lost to Biden and the January 6, 2021 attack on the capital.

But every single day between the election and the attack on the capital, Trump would gin up the rage in his supporters.

He would tell them how the vote was stolen from him and about how he was the rightful president, and he would say that many times every single day for those two months.

There's no reason to think that the next two months will be any different. After all, he is the lawless one."

At the moment, Lewzer is probably throwing food around in his new ballroom while waiting for Natalie to get a stack of new Executive Orders printed up.

Well.... we now know what MAGA Mike Johnson will do about the Blue Wave:

"RUN AWAY!RUN AWAY!" Monty Python style:

"House Speaker Mike Johnson will not stay on as Republican leader after GOP losses
The Louisiana Republican told staff on a call Wednesday morning that he will not run to lead his party as House minority leader in the next Congress."

There's a theory being bantered about on reddit that the Dems will impeach again and then, in the Senate, have a quick Senate vote to remove.

The argument is, the Constitution only requires a 2/3 vote of Senators PRESENT, so a quick vote while the Republicans aren't there can guarantee removal.

Trump will pardon everyone for the past twenty years, including Vance. Then, resign and Vance will pardon Trump.

Kind of removes impeachment for a while.

Vance will veto everything, including the surplus bills the House is guaranteed to pass to pay off the ND

What will Trump do?

He can't take the blame himself so I think he will blame Hegseth.

I think he will fire Hegseth and maybe Brad Cooper and Dan Caine of CENTCOM.

That is, I hope he will.
