#178 Which reminds me of time in the distant past on this board when I used to post a lot of poetry. There was even one poster, whose name I can't recall, who I used to have dueling poetry contests with. I'd post a poem, then he'd post a poem, then I'd post another poem in response, and so on and so forth. Some people found that mighty annoying, but since RCade never said anything about it, I didn't give a damn. Reminiscent of one of Rhett Butler's famound lines from Gone with the Wind: "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.: Good times, good times. But now I know we live in much more serious times. Deadly serious times. Vulgar times. I actually don't see Lamp and Hans as being on different sides in the larger debate, and that's the sad, wasteful part about all of this formatting brouhaha, IMHO.

Again, just my 2 cents.

The device has yet to be invented that can measure the stupidity of a formatting argument

Formatting discussions abound on poetry forums. Well, on poetry forums that discuss/critic free verse. Where do the linebreaks go? The stanza breaks? What is the significance of that linebreak? Would breaking the line here be better--more subtle, less subtle, more provocative, less unexpected?

Poets can do that will linebreaks too. But I digress.

Hans, I thought you were the Drudge Historian, not the Drudge formatting police. If I don't like the formatitng someone uses and don't want to plonk them, something I have never done either, I just scroll on by. And that's what I recommned people do with my posts as well if they don't want to plonk me. I don't know why you are making such a big deal out of this. Yes, I sometimes find Lamp's and Shrimp's formatting annoying just as I sometimes find your formatting annoying, and if I'm not in the mood to deal with it, I just scroll on by. I'm less likely to find Tony's formatting annoying because we suffer from the same formatting flaw according to some aka over use of blockquotes.

Puerto Rican and international pop star Bad Bunny has endorsed Kamala Harris for President on his Instagram page. He has 45 million followers.

This comes as a comedian called Tony Hinchcliffe, speaking at the Trump MSG rally today, called Puerto Rico "a floating island of garbage."

Harris and Tim Walz, with Rep. Alexandra Ocasio Cortez, immediately denounced the comedian.

Puerto Rico has 6 electoral votes. They also have 3.2 million voters on the Island, and 5.9 million in the United States.

There is a whistleblower trying to come forward with information about the Trump campagin's alleged election interference from 2020 through today. Part of that interference relates to Hunter Biden's laptop:

Additionally, the former DOD official states his client has information related to former Trump advisors Rudy Giuliani, Roger Stone and the imprisoned Steve Bannon who "used manipulated data regarding Hunter Biden's laptop to affect public affairs."

And another item of high interest is the Amish are now so enthused about Trump that some of them are even voting and having Buggy Road Rallies for him. I want to tell Fetterman about this new wave of enthusiasm that has never happened before.

Be careful not to overhype the Amish vote for Trump because it appears that some election interference regarding that is being investigated:

Officials in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, are investigating about 2,500 voter registrations after election workers discovered signs that they may be fraudulent.

Anyway, it's right there in the article:

"Ocasio-Cortez made three stops in swing-state Pennsylvania last week on Harris' behalf. United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain, a key Harris ally, has also been a steady presence on the campaign trail."

As far as I can tell AOC is doing the good work as a Harris/Walz surrogate.

Sanders and Cortez don't help with the moderates in swing states the way folks like Cuban and Cheney will.
They're irked because they can't accept where their role lies. And where it doesn't.

They have sent AOC to speak and canvass where she can be most helpful to the campaign: with college students, union workers, Hispanics in the in the northeast corner of the state and people of color in Philadelphia.
