The extreme right tends to favor the Republican Party for its xenophobic policies and commitment to gun ownership.

Trump felt the energy he generated when he called immigrants from our southern border "rapists and criminals". He felt the excitement when he banned people of Muslim nations from receiving visas to come to America.

The sharp increase of MAGA politicians in 2018 echoing Trump and furthering his rhetoric is alarming.
