"We have some very bad people, sick people, radical left lunatics. And it should be easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military."

Um... the Military Brass' Constitutional duty is to put down Insurrections, not support them.

And they hate his slimy, overflowing guts anyway. He'll be the first to go.

FTA:

Fox News host Maria Bartiromo set Trump up to expound on his campaign's ongoing smearing of immigrants. Trump didn't take her up on the offer, instead choosing to focus on American citizens who disagree with his platform.

Echoing rhetoric he shared at his outwardly racist rally in Aurora, Colorado earlier this week, Trump called left-wing dissenters "the enemy within" and said that any uproar over his potential second-term could be put down by the military.

"I think the bigger problem is the enemy from within, not even the people who have come in [and destroyed] our country," he said. "We have some very bad people, sick people, radical left lunatics. And it should be easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military."

And just an FYI, Trump has called Kamala Harris "a radical left lunatic:
Trump Calls Kamala Harris 'Lunatic' In First Rally Since Biden Exit

Donald Trump launched a volley of attacks against US Vice President Kamala Harris Wednesday, calling her a "radical left lunatic" in his first rally since she became the de facto Democratic Party nominee for November's election.

In a speech where he also claimed that Harris was in favor of the "execution" of babies due to her position on abortions, the former president and Republican nominee said: "She is a radical left lunatic who will destroy our country."

Trump has also labeld Walz as a dangerous, radical liberal:

Trump and allies attack Walz as 'dangerously liberal'

The Trump campaign and leading Republicans have launched their first attacks on Tim Walz, labelling him as "far left", "dangerously liberal" and a "radical".

Kamala Harris said she chose the Minnesota governor as her running-mate for "his convictions on fighting for middle class families".

Donald Trump wrote on social media that Mr Walz would "unleash HELL ON EARTH and open our borders to the worst criminals".

JD Vance, Trump's choice for vice-president, said that Mr Walz was on the "far left" of the Democratic party, and chosen because Ms Harris was a "radical herself".

Folks ike Ruth Ben-Ghiat and Anne Applebaum, who study and write about authoritarianism, are trying to warn us:

'Totally illegal': Trump escalates rhetoric on outlawing political dissent and criticism

"This is out of the autocratic playbook. As autocrats consolidate their power once they're in office, anything that threatens their power ... becomes illegal," historian Ruth Ben-Ghiat said.

Donald Trump is ramping up his rhetoric depicting his political rivals and critics as criminals, while dropping a long trail of suggestions that he favors outlawing political speech that he deems misleading or challenges his claims to power.

In a speech Friday in Aurora, Colorado, the Republican presidential nominee blasted the immigration system and lobbed a rhetorical grenade at his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

"She's a criminal. She's a criminal," said Trump, who was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in his New York hush money trial. "She really is, if you think about it."

"Folks ike Ruth Ben-Ghiat and Anne Applebaum, who study and write about authoritarianism, are trying to warn us:"

And Heather Cox Richardson as well:

Trump's behavior is Authoritarianism 101. In a 1951 book called The True Believer, political philosopher Eric Hoffer noted that demagogues appeal to a disaffected population whose members feel they have lost the power they previously held, that they have been displaced either religiously, economically, culturally, or politically. Such people are willing to follow a leader who promises to return them to their former positions of prominence and thus to make the nation great again.

But to cement their loyalty, the leader has to give them someone to hate. Who that is doesn't really matter: the group simply has to be blamed for all the troubles the leader's supporters are suffering. Trump has kept his base firmly behind him by demonizing immigrants, the media, and, increasingly, Democrats, deflecting his own shortcomings by blaming these groups for undermining him.

As abusive as domestic issues like this can be, no American living at home has to worry about western bombs being dropped on their houses.

Foreign abuses get less attention than domestic issues because they are inflicted upon strangers in other countries instead of upon our friends and neighbors, and because the vast majority of the mass media work tirelessly to convince us that those foreign abuses are good and necessary for our security. But they are actually the worst.

Foreign abuses also get less attention than domestic issues because opposition to foreign abuses puts one at odds with mainstream western political parties and the vast majority who support them.

But the biggest reason why foreign abuses get less attention than domestic ones is because of the propaganda. War and militarism is the glue that holds the Empire together, so our governments and politicians and policy shapers do everything they can to keep us arguing about domestic policy at the expense of caring much about foreign policy.

Many in the media wildly exaggerate the differences between the two mainstream political factions while downplaying the empire's foreign abuses as normal, acceptable and nothing to be that concerned about, because the last thing they want is the rise of a robust antiwar movement in America (and other powerful western countries).

You have conscious "Psychological Projection" down pat!

What Is Psychological Projection"And How Does It Impact Mental Health?

Projection is a type of psychological defense mechanism in which a person, consciously or unconsciously, attributes their own thoughts, feelings or traits onto another person or group.

"Instead of acknowledging and dealing with [their] feelings, individuals project them onto others, believing that others possess the same qualities or feelings," says Joe Vaccaro, Psy.D.

"SCOTUS refused to even hear a case on the topic because there was no standing because no censorship was shown to have occurred."

You don't understand standing. What SCOTUS said was the particular group that brought the suit didn't have standing. They did not say no censorship occurred. Musk and Zuckerberg have made it very clear that it did occur. So did Jack Dorsey.

But you be you. Keep cheering it on.

By any metric that's reasonable.

We were promised earth shattering revelations and we got "meh, they asked us to remove stuff that was misinformation and we did."

An occurrence that was hardly new.

As for standing, I understand it just fine. ACB wasn't impressed along with five other justices because there wasn't any evidence of censorship.

Just read the majority opinion from Murthy v Missouri. It doesn't say what you think it says.

What a coincidence.

You've never demonstrated a single example of actual censorship; you merely pretend if the editorial board agreed with the government... that was CENSORSHIP, when the fact is, it's only if the editorial board DISAGREES, and is FORCED to take actions they don't want to take.

Again, not a single example of censorship, at least not with The Twitter Files.

I hope you're not referring to J6. According to the BLM barometer, J6 was 100% violent.

By comparison, over 10,000 BLM protests, 93% completely peaceful.

#29. Over a dozen killed during BLM riots. $2 Billion in property damage. Livelihoods lost. Over 1000 police officers injured. Most of the people protesting on J6 didn't even enter the capitol. Are you calling that violent?
Of the 800 or so who entered the capitol, over 500 didn't break or vandalize anything and didn't engage in any kind of assault. Are you calling those people violent?

As for censorship, SCOTUS has ruled the government cannot get the private sector to a ton its behalf with action that the Constitution prohibits the government from doing. That is what happened and Musk and now Zuckerberg have exposed it.

@#6 ... 'Totally illegal': Trump escalates rhetoric on outlawing political dissent and criticism

Donald Trump is ramping up his rhetoric depicting his political rivals and critics as criminals, while dropping a long trail of suggestions that he favors outlawing political speech that he deems misleading or challenges his claims to power.

Yup.

Fmr Pres Trump is looking to squash political dissent and criticism, especially from his political opponents.

Trump tested the limits on using the military at home. If elected again, he plans to go further
apnews.com

... "I think the bigger problem is the enemy from within," Trump said. He added: "We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics. And I think they're the big " and it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can't let that happen."

Trump has repeatedly invoked the phrase "enemy from within" in recent speeches.

On Saturday, he used it to refer to Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., a prominent Trump critic who oversaw the congressional investigation that led to Trump's first impeachment. Schiff is now running for the Senate. ...

Of course not. Nor are you calling the BLM folks who didn't riot, rioters.

But if it was one of the 7% of BLM protests which DID have violence, ANY violence, that was deemed violent.

Just like J6 was violent, using the same barometer.

Do you agree J6 would be put in the "violent" column if it were judged by the same metric as as the BLM protests?

So 93% of the BLM protests were peaceful, and 0% of J6.
