Jonathan Chait: Nearly half of the Cabinet-level officials who served in Donald Trump's first term have refused to endorse his reelection. Many have spoken out against him, at deep personal and political risk. Their descriptions all revolve around familiar themes: Trump is unfit to lead a democratic government; he either cannot understand or simply refuses to accept distinctions between his personal interests and those of the state; he admires dictators and wishes to emulate their methods.
Kamala Harris, like Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and almost every president in history, has had zero high-level officials from her Cabinet describe her as fascistic or otherwise fundamentally unfit for high office. The number of Trump officials who have made this claim about him is extraordinary.

"Kamala has had zero high-level officials from her Cabinet describe her as fascistic or otherwise fundamentally unfit for high office"
That's assuming she'll run the show once she's elected. But we have seen with Biden where the POTUS can be nothing more than a meat puppet/figurehead whose decisions are not based on any sort of internal mental process, but rather on the extremely narrow spectrum of choices made available by the advisors and cabinet members that surround him/her.
So the true candidate is not really Kamala, but rather the circle of individuals that surrounds her. And if that circle is likely a carry-over of the circle currently surrounding Biden- a circle which includes unconditional, ironclad support for an ethno-supremacist, fascist regime that is currently carrying out an extermination operation on an oppressed people akin to Hitler's holocaust, then she will ultimately bear that burden as candidate.

When I read the absurd posts of contributors like BlueWaffkes I cannot help but wonder whether BW honestly does not believe Trump is a fascist (despite the overwhelming evidence) or whether BW knows Trump is a fascist and that is a huge part of the reason he supports him as he would a cult leader.

And virtually none of this has been covered in Fox World, hence, 40% of the population hasn't heard and most of those either agree with the Mango Mussolini or are just confused by the big words.

Guy pulls a gun first--takes your gun. I would say any criminal that tries to hold someone up with a knife is a fool, but if he has a knife and you make a move, you could be sliced pretty bad and there's no guarantee you shoot him or don't have the gun used on you. No guarantee the bullet won't go through him and kill someone else. I'd rather have a car antennae than a gun in that situation. Even a rock or a club. "Buffalo_bOoB, inducing many a facepalm.

Moder8, I'll answer your question ... no I do not believe he's a fascist. Frankly I find it amusing any time someone says that. It reminds me of true believer righty's thinking Obama was a fascist. Here's the easy answer, anyone seeking the most powerful position on earth has to have megalomaniac tendencies. They will have some level of an "authoritarian" mindset simply because of their personality.
Now I will say ... It was rather foolish the way Democrats spent the last two years going after him only to have it blow up in their collective faces. I will freely acknowledge if he gets back into office the people who went after him have a right to be worried. But they should be worried for the reason of engaging in in Democratic activities to "Save Democracy ... "

Interviews I have seen of MAGA supporters like the strong man image that Trump supposedly portrays. I interpret that such that MAGA supporters have given up on the democratic process. They have insufficient numbers of voters to install enough politicians to move the country in their preferred direction so they want an authoritarian to impose his will on the country. Unfortunately, the reporter asking the questions never follows up with something like: Since you want a strong man as leader, would you want Biden to be an authoritarian? Of course the answer would be no but it would show the MAGA supporter how much of a hypocritical, undemocratic person they really are.

I will freely acknowledge if he gets back into office the people who went after him have a right to be worried.
He has threatened to jail his opponents and go after anyone who has stood against him which is clearly the actions of a fascist wannabe dictator. Even his former chief of staff and most of his former cabinet are trying to warn us.
While you are acknowledging things you should also acknowledge you maga maroons get a little thrill down your legs when he talks and acts like a fascist.
It's why you love him.

Again Donner, I just watched the Biden admin throw multiple political opponents in jail for purely political reasons. So when it happens to the Libs who went after Trump and tried to destroy the man and again had it blow up in their faces ... That's on them.

Then it should be easy to point out several cases were you or I could've committed the crime without any fear of legal repercussions.
If you can give examples, I'll agree with you. If you can't, please have to class to admit as much.
You're up.

Trump picked some real losers first time probably because he was never immersed in the crooked political theater and society of D/R deep state and Republican old guard.
Now in his second term he knows who they are and they know he knows and view him as a threat to their perpetual corrupt autonomy of making wars to make money and open borders for cheap labor. The tide really turned with Elon and the free speech and de-politicization of the left wing Twitter faction.
