Last week DEA agents seized 2.7 million fentanyl pills in Albuquerque, NM. Melania Trump is a world-class snubber. She skipped almost every event of Donald Trump's 2024 campaign, only returning to regular political spouse duties late last year, as she had a memoir to plug and a lucrative documentary project to film. Despite suggesting she would be a full-time First Lady in Trump's second term, she has gone unseen for weeks at a time and even skipped her stepdaughter Tiffany's baby shower (a People source explained, savagely, that Melania "has her own schedule, even on weekends" and didn't see "any reason" to attend). Now Melania is getting a small taste of her own medicine: Former president George W. Bush is skipping an event she is hosting at the White House on Thursday even though it's about his late mother.

President Donald Trump plans to announce while on his trip to Saudi Arabia next week that the United States will now refer to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf or the Gulf of Arabia, according to two U.S. officials.

Most people need around eight hours of sleep each night to function, but a rare genetic condition allows some to thrive on as little as three hours. In a study published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences1, scientists identified a genetic mutation that probably contributes to some people's limited sleep needs.

Investors are suing UnitedHealth Group for allegedly withholding information and "artificially inflating prices" in response to the killing of greedy oligarch Brian Thompson. Amongst other sins, the complaint described UnitedHealth Group's strategy as using "aggressive, anti-consumer tactics." A US Senate report exposed UHC's cruel policies of putting profits over people. Link: US Senate Report Meanwhile, the Trumpf junta is callously seeking the death penalty for Luigi Mangione who allegedly killed the wealthy CEO of UnitedHealth Group, one of the worst health insurance companies on the planet. An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Read more

D/FBI Kash Patel melted down after US Congresswoman Madeleine Dean (D-PA, 4th CD) accused him of committing perjury during his Senate confirmation hearing earlier this year. When Patel became obnoxious and belligerent, Congresswoman Dean ends by saying "sadly, this is an unserious moment for the FBI."

The most unqualified man to ever direct the FBI can't maintain his composure when being caught in a lie.

This practice, known as trans-shipment, has become a focal point in ongoing trade enforcement efforts by US Customs officials since the Trump administration unveiled its so-called "Liberation Day" tariffs on April 2. Malaysia's Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) announced on May 5 that with effect from May 6, it will be the only body that will issue non-preferential certificates of origin (NPCOs) for shipments to the US, stopping the issuance of these certificates by Miti-appointed organisations like local business councils, chambers or associations. Not that long ago, Ron DeSantis looked like the future of MAGA, the iron-fisted ruler of Florida politics who was set up for a White House run. Now the Republican governor faces potential political obscurity, unable to control legislators in his own party who are calling for a federal investigation of his wife's charity. Why it matters: Nothing exemplifies DeSantis' striking loss of mojo in Tallahassee like the scandal surrounding Hope Florida, the state-backed charity of First Lady Casey DeSantis, who's been eyeing a bid to succeed her husband as governor. The charity received $10 million in secret settlement money from a Medicaid provider just days before the charity sent that same amount to two political groups favored by the DeSantises. House Republicans and independent observers allege that the arrangement amounted to an illegal siphoning of Medicaid funds.

The flight could depart as soon as Wednesday, officials told The New York Times. The nationalities of those set to be on the flight were not immediately apparent. Libya is in the middle of severe conflict, and human rights groups have called its migrant detention centers "horrific" and "deplorable."
