When it comes to the crocodile of censorship, history is strewn with defenders who later became digestives. Censorship produces an insatiable appetite for greater and greater speech limits, and today's censorship supporters often become tomorrow's censored subjects. This week, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stopped feeding the crocodile.

A traffic stop because of alleged tinted windows led to a brief chase by Chester PD Officer Michael Brodzinski, who deployed his Taser three times on Wayne Vick (42) who then yelled out in pain from the shocks. Brodzinski then punches Vick in the face twice after being unable to secure his arm behind his back. Vick's supposed non-compliance could have been caused by the electrocution. But rather than use effective pressure points or ju-jitsu techniques taught at the police academies to ensure Vick's compliance, Brodzinski chose to pummel the helpless suspect's face. As a graduate of FLETC and the FBI Defensive Tactics (DT) program, I can attest that US law-enforcement personnel are not taught to punch a prostrate suspect in the face to ensure compliance. Key points include:

  • China is deepening selective cooperation with Russia, aiming to avoid actions that could harm its global standing.
  • Russia is sourcing military aid from Iran and North Korea, including artillery, UAVs, and personnel.
  • Moscow is transferring sensitive technologies (space, nuclear, missile) to bolster Tehran's and Pyongyang's capabilities.
  • Iran and North Korea leverage these ties to mitigate sanctions and international isolation.

IDF Supremo Israel Katz said at a Jewish settlement in the West Bank: "They will recognize a Palestinian state on paper, and we will build the Jewish Israeli state on the ground here. The paper will disappear into the trash of history and Israel will flourish and flourish." With those statements, Katz had a clear message for French President Emmanuel Macron "and his friends" who had called the recognition of the Palestinian state "not only a moral duty, but a political necessity." Macron also urged a tougher line from European countries against Israel if it does not respond to the disastrous humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Emmanuel Macron continues 'talking the talk, but not walking the walk' by simply recognizing Palestine. This past March, the American taxpayer expedited $4bn of military aid to Israel. Read more
