What did Jesus mean by "the end of the age"? Does the New Testament teach salvation by faith alone, or do works matter too? And what will happen to the earth in God's new creation?
In this episode of Ask NT Wright Anything, Tom Wright and Mike Bird tackle big questions on eschatology, faith, and new creation.
They unpack Jesus' teachings about the temple and the "end of the age," explain why faith and works are inseparable in the New Testament, and reflect on Paul's vision of a world renewed when heaven and earth come together.
Along the way, they challenge common misunderstandings shaped by Western traditions and offer a hope-filled vision of God's future.

This month, the Department of Education released its latest edition of the National Assessment of Educational Progress, the standardized tests better known as the Nation's Report Card. The results have left me blazing with rage. In my home state of California, for instance, only 30% of public school fourth graders can read proficiently. Fully 41% cannot even read at a basic level " which is to say, they cannot really understand and interpret written text at all. Eighth graders, as you might expect, look almost as bad. Read more

Music from Europe, specifically, Germany, seemed to play a role. So, songs in both English and German seemed to litter the airwaves (imo, mostly the college station airwaves). As noted in the linked tune ... Nena's 99 Red Balloons had a German version.

Twelve satellites were quietly sent into low Earth orbit earlier this year from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert. The payload wasn't your standard weather or telecom array.
Each satellite carried onboard artificial intelligence models, high-speed laser communications, and enough processing power to mark a radical departure from how satellite data is typically handled.

Google admitted earlier this week that its COVID-era censorship policies were enacted at the explicit behest of the Biden Administration ... This new policy was announced in response to an inquiry by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, who asked Google for information about moderation decisions the company made during the Biden years. In response, Alphabet, the parent company of Google, said in a statement that: "Senior Biden administration officials, including White House officials, conducted repeated and sustained outreach to Alphabet and pressed the company regarding certain user-generated content related to the COVID-19 pandemic that did not violate its policies. While the company continued to develop and enforce its policies independently, Biden administration officials continued to press the company to remove non-violative user-generated content."
