And certainly not homemakers " those are the women who are doing the job they've done for millenniums, taking care of the family. No, the challenge to civilization is presented, in the view of Helen Andrews, a writer and editor who served as a senior editor at The American Conservative, by the women who are entering the workplace in such great numbers that they now make up large portions or majorities of their professions. Trump on Wednesday tried to explain the Republican Party's steep election losses this week in part on a failure of language, specifically, a failure to use a "new word." Many blamed the GOP defeat on a mix of Trump's own unpopularity (his approval rating just reached a new low) and consumer frustration at continued inflation. But the president insisted everything is moving in the right direction. The only issue, he said, is that Republicans don't talk about it enough. "They have this new word called affordability,'" Trump explained during a Fox News interview. "And they don't talk about it enough." Read more

There is no reason to risk your life serving when the mayor hates you and believes your department shouldn't even exist." " Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, posting to his personal X account in response to a MAGA influencer's claim that "just about every NYPD cop I've spoken to has told me they're putting their papers in to leave. They're not about to stay in a city where the mayor, and the people who elected him, openly hates them." Ron DeSatan is attempting to lure NYPD officers with a mere $5k bonus. The CDC informs that xix deaths have been linked to a nationwide listeria outbreak tied to ready-to-eat meals. The affected meals include pasta salads sold at major grocery retailers such as Kroger, Albertsons, and Trader Joe's. Most of the recalled pasta products have already passed their expiration dates, except for Scott & Jon's Shrimp Scampi with Linguini bowls, which come in 9.6-ounce packages and have "use by" dates in March 2027. The outbreak, which began in June, was first traced to Fresh Realm's chicken fettuccine alfredo heat-and-serve meals, sold under the Marketside and Home Chef brands, but has since expanded to other products. So far, 25 people across 18 states have been hospitalized. With only 7 days worth of oxygen and a little bit of food on board, Laika launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan with a Russian Sputnik rocket. Read more
