In the film Mad Max, an oil shortage leaves Australian society teetering on the brink of total collapse. In real-life, things aren't quite that dystopian yet Down Under. But with barely a month of stockpiled diesel left and hundreds of forecourts running dry, the anxiety is palpable.


On Monday, Trump said that he had instructed the U.S. Navy to "seek and interdict every vessel in international waters that has paid a toll to Iran," and the U.S. military later said that the "blockade will be enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas." However, ship tracking data analyzed by BBC Verify revealed that at least four Iran-linked vessels "crossed the Strait of Hormuz" without incident; two on Monday, and two overnight.


Since Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz sounded the alarm in January about the rampant Medicare fraud inside California's hospice system, ABC and NBC have not spent a second on their flagship morning and evening newscasts informing viewers of the billions of dollars scammed from U.S. taxpayers.


After Congress approved the automatic registration of young Americans and legal residents into the Selective Service System (SSS) last year, Faux News TV tumor psychotherapist Jonathan Alpert bleated that anyone worried about potentially being drafted for military service is suffering from "Trumpf Derangement Syndrome" (TDS) and wondered how many youngsters in Gen Z might use it as an excuse to avoid conscription, something Dummkopf Trumpf got away with during the Vietnam War.

Record domestic oil and gas production hasn't saved US drivers from price spikes.


A South Carolina pastor accused of sexually assaulting a foster child had his prison sentence commuted by President Donald Trump and was on federal probation when the alleged assaults occurred. The Richland County Sheriff's Department (RCSD) said Rodney Gibson and Kawiana Young were arrested Monday. RCSD noted the two are married. Both were charged with unlawful conduct with a minor, while Gibson was additionally charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Gibson was also identified as the pastor of Pathway 2 Hope Ministries in Columbia, while Young owns and operates DreamCatcher Child Development Center.

Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth's pastor, Doug Wilson, wants to criminalize homosexuality by overturning Obergefell v. Hodges, abolish Islamic minarets, prohibit statues of Hindu deities or other non-Christian religious symbols in public spaces, and punish adulterers with legal penalties. Public celebrations of LGBTQ+ identity would be banned, as would a married woman's right to vote.

Aerospace startup Hermeus is moving its headquarters to El Segundo from Atlanta as it aims to build autonomous hypersonic aircraft for the military, the latest sign of revival in the region's aerospace and defense sectors. The company, valued at $1 billion, is opening executive offices and a facility where it will design and build its next prototype, a supersonic plane intended to hit Mach 3 " faster than any modern warplane. The company's goal is to eventually develop a hypersonic plane reaching Mach 5, or five times the speed of sound, and Southern California has the engineering talent base to help achieve that, executives said.

In early April, producers are eagerly awaiting or have already started their spring planting. Though other considerations like soil moisture, air temperature, and the weather forecast play important roles, the adage of waiting for morning 4-inch soil temperatures to hit the 50-degree-Fahrenheit mark is important, too. That line is currently crossing into the southern Corn Belt, and the coming forecast should bring that northward throughout the next week.
