Organized labor is leading a quiet push for Vice President Kamala Harris to consider Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) as her running mate, Axios has learned.

The latest poll currently has Harris up +11 in Michigan.

Picking Peters would mean a Dem governor can temporarily appoint a Dem to fill his seat until it could be filled in 2026.

So, there's that. But I'd imagine it'll be someone 60 or younger. I wouldn't rule out Pete Buttigieg either.

Based upon what i have been hearing him saying in interviews over these past couple of weeks, I would not be opposed.

But I suspect the GOP would have a Chernobyl-type meltdown at a Harris-Buttigieg ticket.
