Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson 'Secretly Lobbied' for Vance

The nomination of J.D. Vance as Donald Trump's running mate was backed by a whispering campaign from Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson and David Sacks.

Well let's face it... they need each other to stay relevant. Cute couple.

When Tucker Carlson is dictating policy for your party you need to... uh, should... um...

Ok. I got nothing.

A further demonstration of how easily manipulated Der Dotard is, how little thought he gives to his decisions and how once made there is no going back. With Trump there is never any acknowledgement of a mistake on his part, only a search for a scapegoat. No civilized country with nuclear weapons should have as its leader a person so bad at making decisions. Yet here we are ...

No one wanted to listen to him but Micheal Cohen explained in his book how The Donald operated. He would make a decision and then when it fell apart or backfired he would send his lawyers out to fix it. If they couldn't fix it they would get fired or just not paid or left holding the "bag". Which always turned out to be filled with The Donald's dung.

Elon seems to be burning up in re-entry.

That explains a lot.

Trump's "search" for a V.P. was a farse. I doubt if any lobbying from Musk or Carlson had any influence. Picking Vance was already in the bag based on Trump's expectation of a huge dump of money from Peter Thiel into Trump's campaign coffers.

But here's the kicker for Trump. It's too early to tell right now but Thiel might not be so willing to throw good money after bad now that President Biden has pulled the rug out from under Trump's campaign ~ leaving it flopping around like a fish out of water.

I suspect nobody is watching this unexpected turn of events closer than Peter Thiel.

Also . . .

Trump's #1 backup plan to coerce state election officials in swing states to refuse to certify Kamala Harris' win has gone into overdrive. Which, if successful, is going to cause the election results to get buried in a spate of frivolous legal battles for months.

Since Trump's backup plan is public knowledge, I certainly hope the Harris campaign has a backup plan of their own,

The one thing I haven't thought through is the impact of Congress. The House is easier to figure. The Senate is easy to figure, but the combined certification and the conflict with Harris is not good for Trump's plan. This could get messy.

It would get even messier if 270 threshold wasn't met. Then it's Congress that decides. Congress' House votes for the President, and Congress' Senate votes for the Vice-President.

In the above scenario the NEW Congress will be the ones voting and counting the electoral college votes.

The full process is here, if interested.

So - this means those down ticket Reps and Senatorsbeing voted on this year are going to be critical. My statement that the House and Senate are easy to figure is BS since the election could throw all this up in the air.

Harris is going to have to lock up 270+ free and clear, otherwise this can get really nasty.

Of course they would.

Vance is in no way qualified.

18 months in a Senate seat Peter Thiel bought for him does not "ready on Day 1" make.

So Vance is Russia's choice. Interesting.

AU

In Trump's new "Constitution for Dictators" I don't expect there to be any role for Vance to play on Day One. Dictators don't usually like to give anyone an excuse for a coup. The title of Vice-Dictators doesn't sound right either.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Assistant Dictator (just for the sake of appearances) with no authority and a small cubby hole of an office in the basement.
