Drop in Migrants Hampers Texas Gov. Abbott's Busing North Program

Republican National Convention delegates erupted in applause last month when Texas Gov. Greg Abbott doubled down on his commitment to send buses full of migrants to blue cities.

From the cited article...

... "We have continued busing migrants to sanctuary cities all across the country," Abbott told the cheering crowd in Milwaukee. "Those buses will continue to roll until we finally secure our border."

But the buses have not been rolling on a consistent basis for months because of a steep drop in the number of migrants apprehended at the southern border, according to officials and migrant shelter operators in Texas and in a half-dozen big cities across the U.S. ...

I do note that Gov Abbott says "migrants" and not "illegal migrants."

Why might that be?

Could he be admitting that the migrants are in the Country legally? (wouldn't that be interesting?)

If they are in the Country illegally, then he would be trafficking in illegals.

And that is a major No-No.

Oh noes!

Texas doesn't have enough migrants to harass blue states with anymore!

I guess the migrant "invasion" is fizzling.

And another maga lie bites the dust. Time to gin up another.

So one can only hope and pray that these illegal immigrants take Medicare and Social Security, community safety and children's education away from Democrats. It would be a very worthy and appropriate outcome as Democrats themselves purposely and foolishy created the destruction and cause.

Definitely a Russian bot.

Illegal Immigrants don't get Medicare or Social Security.

WTF Community Safety and Education are you even talking about?

Looks like the Bot is broken.

It's a big distortion of "Asylum seekers who are 65 or older and have a work permit based on seeking asylum, and have been working in the United States for 10 years or longer, may be eligible to apply for Medicare."

Immigrants and Medicaid & CHIP

If you're a "qualified non-citizen," you're generally eligible for coverage through Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), if you meet state income and residency rules.
To get Medicaid and CHIP coverage, many qualified non-citizens (such as many Lawful Permanent Residents, also known as LPRs or green card holders) have a 5-year waiting period. This means they must wait 5 years after getting "qualified" immigration status before they can get Medicaid and CHIP coverage. There are exceptions. For example, refugees, asylees, or LPRs who used to be refugees or asylees don't have to wait 5 years. Qualified non-citizens who haven't yet had their status for 5 years generally qualify for Marketplace coverage, if otherwise eligible.
The term "qualified non-citizen" includes:

Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR/Green Card Holder)
Asylees
Refugees
Cuban/Haitian entrants
Paroled into the U.S. for at least one year
Conditional entrant granted before 1980
Battered non-citizens, spouses, children, or parents
Victims of trafficking and his or her spouse, child, sibling, or parent or individuals with a pending application for a victim of trafficking visa
Granted withholding of deportation
Member of a federally recognized Indian tribe or American Indian born in Canada
Citizens of the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, and Palau who are living in one of the U.S. states or territories (referred to as Compact of Free Association or COFA migrants)

I suspect that if you checked back in ten years with the cities where these immigrants were sent, you'd find that the immigrants were a net positive in those economies. It's most likely that Abbotts actions were doing those cities a favor.
