Ohio Wildlife Division Debunks the Viral Geese Pic

A viral pic of a man lugging around 2 geese in Ohio is blowing up after Donald Trump's bizarre pet-munching Haitian immigrant claims ... but we're told the photo's just being twisted to fit the former prez's narrative, and what's actually going on is far less dramatic.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife tells TMZ the real deal behind the viral pic -- the guy was actually picking up 2 geese that were hit in a Columbus car accident. And by the way, that's 45 minutes from Springfield, where Trump's wild claims supposedly took place.

Also, we're told there's no evidence the man is an immigrant, or Haitian, or had plans to eat the geese. They make it clear the whole story's being blown out of proportion thanks to Trump's comments this week and his fans amplifying the narrative online.

What I would love to see is the mayor of Springfield call all the news networks and give a press conference telling everyone that the Republican candidate for president is lying to you about my town. And further more, for all the stupid stuff he (and his running mate) will pull out of their butts in the future, just know that they are trying to make you afraid. That is their whole plan for the country. Find things that are different than what you are used to, and make you afraid of it.

Also, how out of touch are these MAGA conservatives. Canada Geese are a f-ing nuisance. They are aggressive, destroy the lawn, and poop everywhere. I know of landlords paying people to hunt the geese on their land.

Also, from what I hear, they taste terrible.

So if people are willing to remove them for free and they eat them instead of wasting them, you should want to encourage those people... they are performing a public service.

Honestly, it seems to me that only ignorant Karens would be triggered by people killing and eating Canada Geese.

Geese are flying carp. The season is open in NYS, shoot 5/day. And yes, we do eat them.

It's not "open season". You are not allowed 5 a day. Not in NYS. Not without a special permit.

All Canada geese, including resident flocks, are protected by Federal and State laws and regulations. In New York, management responsibility for Canada geese is shared by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).

It is illegal to hunt, kill, sell, purchase, or possess migratory birds or their parts (feathers, nests, eggs, etc.) except as permitted by regulations adopted by USFWS and DEC.

My area of SW NYS clearly states the early goose season starts Sept 1 and runs to Sept 25.
The limit this year is 15/day. Before you look any stupider, yes you need a hunting license and yes you need a migratory bird permit.

but there's also Special Conservation Seasons for geese, if your state has it. No bag limit, no shotgun ammo limit, electronic calls are allowed.

It's for overpopulation culling.

Just like I said.

So it's NOT just "open season" on geese. (Though this is geese season in New York apparently) So. There is an actual season. And. There are actual rules and permits required for hunting like every form of wildlife. New Yorkers are not just randomly killing them anytime of the year anywhere and eating them.

You tried to make it look like anyone can just kill 5 geese a day and eat them.

Even carp requires a fishing license.

So if Haitians were killing geese in Ohio they would most likely need a permit and would have to kill them in season.

But Shady JD would still target them. Apparently.
