64k Rape Pregnancies in States with Abortion Bans

A new study estimates that more than 64,000 pregnancies resulted from rape between July 1, 2022, and January 1, 2024, in states where abortion has been banned throughout pregnancy in all or most cases. Of these, just more than 5,500 are estimated to have occurred in states with rape exceptions -- and nearly 59,000 are estimated for states without exceptions.

The findings suggest that thousands of people who were raped became pregnant in states where abortion was banned. Even in states with exceptions for rape, very few people got an abortion"likely because of fear and intimidation, Dickman speculates. Some pregnant people in states with bans may have traveled out of state to obtain an abortion legally, but some would have needed to travel hundreds of miles"a journey that is impractical or impossible for many people ...

A just and compassionate society would do all in its power to help a woman in this situation.

Our country chooses the opposite.

I coined a term to describe the "Christians" who truly don't care about the suffering of others: "Torquemada Christians."

The same ilk who'd have brought picnic baskets to burnings at the stake, screaming for more wood on the fire.

...64,000 pregnancies...between July 1, 2022, and January 1, 2024...

Is the number really that high? In a year and a half?

MAGAts are thrilled, those are 64,000 women and little girls who otherwise would not have gotten pregnant. MAGA is a sick, perverted cult.

Just leave the babies in one of those drop boxes at the local fire station. The fire fighters will take care of it from there. See--problem solved...

64,000 raped women denied abortions in Red States. And, statistically, that is @ 64,000 more children who grow up in either the juvenile justice system or the foster care system... Before graduating to jails and prisons in those States. MAGA! If this obscenity does not shock your conscience, Trump is your boy!

how many want to bet that the majority of those
rapists had GOP leanings.

after all, barefoot and pregnant is how they like
their females.

stuck in domestic situations they can't get out of.

Sad. Predictable. Preventable...

The concerned citizens of those states need to lobby and vote into office officials who will push through the laws they want - that is how the system works.

Democrats: America is one country.

Republicans: America is 50 independent states.

What's the old saying, "United we stand, divided we fall."

Putin and Russian trolls have done an impeccable job at convincing Republicans how this nation is really 50 individual states that should be autonomous.

Republicans blindly seek to destroy our nation.
