From the cited article...

..."More people than ever need help paying rent. More people than ever are becoming homeless for the first time," the National Alliance to End Homelessness, a nonprofit focused on preventing and ending homelessness, wrote on X in a post about the HUD report. ...

What is the Pres-elect Trump administration planning to do to help resolve this problem?

Houses in the United States are for wealthy people to buy and use as AirBnB rentals.

F you, poor people!

God bless unfettered capitalism!

@#4 ... Houses in the United States are for wealthy people to buy and use as AirBnB rentals.

Well, yup.

But there is also this for those houses that people can afford ...

Tiny homes at risk of being stolen
www.newsnationnow.com

... Tiny homes have become targets for thieves stealing entire houses, Realtor.com reported.

In Oklahoma, a woman's dream of sustainable living was shattered when her tiny home was stolen from her locked property in Sapulpa, Okla., leaving behind cut wires and crushed cables, a Fox station reported.

Similarly, the Bennet family, who document their tiny home travels on TikTok, also had their home stolen and damaged before locating it with GPS. ...

Tiny homes seem to be promoted ...

e.g.,

Sandy tiny house has three bedrooms with room to stand
newatlas.com

... Though they are a standard feature in tiny houses, few people actually like to crawl into a loft-based bedroom. The Sandy tiny house addresses this issue by offering generous standing room in all three of its bedrooms.

The Sandy, by Indigo River Tiny Homes, is based on a triple-axle trailer, with a length of 36 ft (10 m). It's finished in smart siding engineered wood and has two storage boxes outside.

The entrance opens onto the living area, which includes a sofa for two and a little storage space, plus a TV. Nearby is the kitchen. This has solid mahogany countertops with steel sink, a microwave, an electric oven with electric cooktop, and a fridge/freezer. It also has lots of cabinetry, including a pull-out pantry. ...

My friend has a small house on his property.

Makes really good money as a rental.

... and, fwiw, I will add...

Back in the day when I bought my current house, the monthly payment, even with the 12% mortgage interest rate of the time, was still less than the rent I had been paying.

Here in Connecticut, that may run afoul of zoning.

More like homelessness increased during the Biden administration.

With the Republicans in charge the news media and Democrats (I repeat myself) will find new concerns for homelessness, unemployment and inflation. I expect we will go back to the old definition of recession and that we will learn that our economic metrics were tabulated incorrectly. Unexpectedly.

But at least we're spending and/or giving away hundreds of billions to blow up bunches of brown people overseas so those increasing numbers of homeless people back home can feel safe and secure during their increasing impoverishment.

I was wondering when someone would finally say the quiet part out loud.

Nine out of the 10 states with the highest rate of homelessness were states run by Democrats.

Just saying the quiet part out loud.

Don't worry too much. The MAGA world is already crashing down.

Donald is agreeing that MAGA are uneducated, unskilled hicks.

Prepare to welcome all those technical geeks from India. "Taking jobs away" from people who never had the first clue to begin with.

So you pretend not to understand what per capita means.

Or you're not pretending?

You seem to understand poverty rates just fine when they are posted.
