NYC Mayoral Debate: Zohran Mamdani Embarrasses Andrew Cuomo

Under attack from both Republican Curtis Sliwa and Democratic Party turncoat Andrew Cuomo, Zohran Mamdani appeared unfazed by his opponents' irrelevant criticisms. Mamdani kept the pressure on Cuomo, raising the sexual harassment scandal that ended his tenure as governor; the millions in taxpayer dollars that have gone to defending the harassment lawsuits; and ongoing investigations into Cuomo's handling of the COVID-19 crisis in nursing homes. "What I don't have in experience, I make up for in integrity," Mamdani fired at the disgraced ex-NYS Governor. "And what you don't have in integrity, you can never make up for it in experience." Curtis Sliwa (R) slammed the mercenary Andrew Cuomo as well. "You think you're the toughest guy alive. Let me tell you something, you lost your own primary, right? You were rejected by your Democrats," accurately barbed Sliwa at the stunned Cuomo.

More

Zohran Mamdani's campaign has centered on affordability, with plans to make buses free, a rent freeze on stabilized apartments, and provide universal childcare. Dummkopf Trumpf proxy Andrew Cuomo ineffectively pointed to Mamdani's past statements about the police as racist and suggested he would not protect Jewish New Yorkers because he did not condemn the use of the slogan "globalizing the intifada," but at least 20% of NY Jews support Mamdani. "Just say it. I denounce it,' Cuomo bleated his AIPAC talking point. "He won't do it. That's the issue." Then the Judas Iscariot of the Democratic Party struggled to answer a question about his relationship with NYC's Muslim community, estimated at over 750,000 residents. During the final primary debate, Cuomo could not name a single mosque he had visited during his years as a failed governor. Silver-spooned Andrew Cuomo, who married into and got kicked out of the Kennedy clan, never tried a case as either prosecutor or defense counsel, yet the odious Benjamin Netanyahu hired him as part of his legal team at the ICC where Netanyahu has been rightfully indicted of crimes against humanity.

Comments

In my view, as I have said elsewhere, Mr Madani came out ahead in this debate because he (1) did not screw up in any significant manner and (2) the other, more experienced, candidates seemed to be unable to show they were a better candidate than Mr Mamdani.

So, to me it looked like a tie.

In that case, the newcomer seems to have won.

Another debate in a week or so ...

Not long ago, the mild-mannered Zohran Mamdani underwent a hunger strike in support of striking taxi drivers while NYC Mayor Eric Adams was feted to gourmet Turkish cuisine by diplomats attempting to bribe him and Andrew Cuomo was enjoying Oysters Rockefeller in the Hamptons.

Andrew Cuomo is the Judas Iscariot of the Democratic Party who is happy to receive Dummkopf Trumpf's help against poor Zohran Mamdani.

#2 | Posted by C0RI0LANUS at 2025-10-17 03:04 AM

Disgraced ex-NYS governor Andrew Cuomo wasted $60m of taxpayer money on his legal defense for sexual harassment, then whined that $60m was too much money to spend on a pilot program to provide inexpensive groceries for poor people. Meanwhile his BFF Dummkopf Trumpf is cutting SNAP benefits and he wasted millions of dollars of USAID food that rotted in warehouses that could have gone to hungry people in the US or the Third World.

And Andrew Cuomo and Dummkopf Trumpf are both pals of Benjamin Netanyahu. Figures:

In NYC, we can't wait to vote for Zohran Mamdani next month.

AIPAC, the landlords, and the oligarchs are running scared because they wasted their money and resources on loser Andrew Cuomo, a sexual predator who was lucky not to have been prosecuted for his litany of blasphemies while he was a failed NYS governor.

Idiots think that Zohran will take over NYC government with shamans, imams, and taxi drivers. But the reality is that Zohran will have access to real (non-AIPAC) Democrats with experience in the Big Apple, as well as academics from CUNY.

Out will go Israel's privileged status with the NYC Office of International Affairs (the UN Liaison) and their ability to appoint professors in CUNY.

And will ICC-indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu take a chance on despoiling the UN next year knowing that an NYPD ESU team may be awaiting him and his Shin Bet entourage at JFKIA next year? My money's on the Irish cops who are pissed about the Gaza genocide.

Anyone who thinks real estate owners are going to go for this is nuts. These apartments will be complete, crime-ridden slums in no time at all.

#9 | Posted by lfthndthrds at 2025-10-17 06:14 PM

"plans to make buses free"

"provide universal childcare" is this free too?

So if the residents don't have to pay for this stuff, who does pay for it? Do the people who work at the day care work for free? Do the people who drive/mechanic the busses work for free. Is the fuel free? Are the busses free?

This is going to be a riot if Z-man gets elected. I'll gladly sit back with the popcorn from half way across the country and laugh.

It's fascinating reading what a person who bragged about taking ivermectin believes.

So you think Mamdani raising taxes a minuscule amount on NYC's wealthiest to help make life more affordable for all New Yorkers in NYC is going to destroy NYC?

You realize America was at its greatest when taxes on the wealthiest Americans was at 90%, right?

#11 | Posted by ClownShack at 2025-10-17 06:22 PM

So if the residents don't have to pay for this stuff, who does pay for it?

Their taxes pay for it.

You're too conditioned to give all your taxes to the wealthy to realize you've been getting duped your whole life.

LOLOL Let me see if I have this right. Is it just the rich that the taxes go up on?? Because if the lower income people have to increase their taxes to pay for the things they plan on getting, we're right back at the swirling toilet.

Less than a year ago they were life itself.

#16 | Posted by lfthndthrds at 2025-10-17 07:06 PM

#17 | Posted by Zed at 2025-10-17 07:09 PM

No opinion?

You seem to think rents would do it.

#18 | Posted by Zed at 2025-10-17 07:14 PM

Anyone who can't afford to live there needs to GTFO. It makes more sense that they live somewhere they can afford instead of the government giving them free ---- at the expense of those who can afford to live there.

#19 | Posted by lfthndthrds at 2025-10-17 07:15 PM

It makes more sense that they are able to live in the communities they have built.

Just as it makes sense that a working man can afford eggs and hamburger,

Do you think that of ability to pay for food means that people should not eat?

You're making that argument.

No one is starving in America unless they want to starve. Americans toss out 20% of its good product. Anyone can dig through the garbage and eat better than someone in the UK.

#23 | Posted by oneironaut at 2025-10-17 08:55 PM

"In America, over 47 million people were food insecure in 2023, which is the official term for not having consistent access to enough food for a healthy life. This includes nearly 14 million children. Another 50 million people have sought assistance from food banks."

One supposes that's not near enough starving to matter. One supposes.

So little, true, its 30-40%

In the United States, food waste is estimated at between 30-40 percent of the food supply. This estimate, based on estimates from USDA's Economic Research Service of 31 percent food loss at the retail and consumer levels, corresponded to approximately 133 billion pounds and $161 billion worth of food in 2010. This amount of waste has far-reaching impacts on society:

The Society of Saint Andrew is a gleaning charity, founded when it became apparent more food was rotting in the fields than was needed to feed every hungry person.

My bride helped our local SOSA get off the ground, going from 750,000 lbs of food when she began, to 5 million pounds five years later when she retired. They provided food banks with the rarest of the rare: fresh produce.

If you want to feed the needy, donate to your local SOSA chapter. They're able to provide fresh fruits and vegetables for about 33-50 cents per serving.

#39 | Posted by Danforth at 2025-10-17 10:30 PM

Our SOSA exec director was making about $65k a year.

EVERYBODY was expected to pitch in.

" Its all a grift"

That's always the view from the cheap seats.

Meanwhile, a lot of non-profit CEOs are taking pay cuts compared to what they'd make in the corporate world.

When I was on the SAG-AFTRA Board, our exec was making $500K ... but as a Rhodes Scholar and Stanford Summa, he could've commanded $2-$5 million on the open market. And that's a low estimate.

You're arguing one extreme, while the other side is arguing the other. Both of you are just arguing past each other for the sake of it while ignoring that you both have some valid points and painting each other with strawman arguments.

There are people who would genuinely become more productive members of society with this assistance. There are also people who would abuse it and cause more of a burden both on the system and general public. Case in point: I went back to visit my hometown recently, and my brother was telling me about the homeless issue it had been having with a "tent city". A couple years ago, a new mayor decided to relocate them to a public park and give them electricity so they could charge their phones. It wasn't long before most of these "homeless" people suddenly started having large refrigerators in their tents, and nobody knew where they were coming from. Apparently people started coming from Indiana because they'd heard about this place. The right seems to think this sort of thing is inevitable with any type of government assistance, while you want to pretend it doesn't exist or isn't in any way a problem at all.

#53 | Posted by sentinel at 2025-10-18 10:45 AM

You're arguing one extreme, while the other side is arguing the other.

Theres nothing valid about Zed's point, in fact it was the same point made for ObamaCare, that all the sudden there would be an explosion of entrepreneurship.
This isn't why they are removing the fare. Its to stop people from assaulting the metro driver, thats it that the reason. Mamdani doesn't even believe what Zed is pushing.

Zeds and Mamdani's thinking is always first order, even your example was first order thinking, "give the electricity and all their problems will go away".

The second order thinking says, that the transit services customer will no longer be the passenger. Its not that hell will descend upon the transit service, its that the transit service will get functionally worse and worse, because how can passengers who aren't paying customers complain, its FREE.

#48 | POSTED BY SENTINEL

This might be incorrect.

35 million tonnes of food in China is wasted each year, with over half of it attributing to the dumping of excess food upon consumption. The Chinese government has been working hard to combat this growing environmental problem, and so far, they have come up with quite some creative policies. So, what is the current state of food waste in China and how effective are its anti-food waste policies and law?
