Republican congressman Randy Fine has called for an investigation into the citizenship status of NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. The Islamophobic Florida representative posted that "we have clearly suffered from massive naturalization fraud," claiming that some immigrants "swore an oath to America but clearly came to destroy it." Mamdani, the Democratic front runner in the NYC mayoral race, was born in Kampala, Uganda, in 1991. His family later immigrated to the US and he was raised in NYC, naturalizing in 2018. The AIPAC-funded Fine brayed it was "time to go back and review every naturalization of the past 30 years, starting with Zohran Mamdani, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, and journalist Mehdi Hasan"and where fraud is found, denaturalize and deport." Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was born in Somalia and Mehdi Hasan was born in the UK; both of whom are Muslim. There are ~4.5m Muslims in the US, making up less than 2% of the US population.
Early balloting began this weekend in NYC and polling sites have been flooded with voters. Despite the hideous Islamophobic smear campaign against the amiable Zohran Mamdani, he still commands a double-digit lead over the mercenary Andrew Cuomo. Like Judas Iscariot, this slimy reprobate betrayed the Democratic Party for 30 pieces of silver. Dummkopf Trumpf, the landlords, the oligarchs, and AIPAC are desperate to beat the young Muslim upstart who has a plan to make NYC more affordable for its residents. Moreover, as Mayor of NYC, Zohran can give voice to the vulnerable and dispossessed people of the world from the "bully pulpit" of City Hall, notably ethnically-cleansed Palestinians. Nota Bene: Catherine Connolly (68), an independent socialist, was elected Ireland's next president in a landslide on Saturday. She ran on a ticket of of inclusion and compassion. And, if I may add ...
the political commercials for the NYC Mayoral race and the NJ Governor race have been taking a new low, imo.
For example ...

www.theguardian.com
... New York City mayoral hopeful Andrew Cuomo has been widely labeled as racist after his official X account posted " and then deleted " an AI-generated ad depicting "criminals for Zohran Mamdani".
Not even 20 minutes into the second mayoral debate, Cuomo's official account, @andrewcuomo, tweeted the video. It was reshared by many before being deleted.
The Cuomo and Mamdani campaigns did not immediately respond to the Guardian's request for comment.
The video, which has been saved and reshared by various people, runs a little over two minutes and opens with an AI iteration of Mamdani, first running through the streets of New York and then eating rice with his hands.
It goes on to show a Black man in a keffiyeh shoplifting, a man abusing a woman, a sex trafficker, a drug dealer, and others, all showing their support for Mamdani.
Reaction to the video, which was re-uploaded by journalist Prem Thakker, was fast and negative. ...
But Mr Cuomo seems to need the support of Republicans in NYC, and that ad looks like it was his campaign's way to get that support.
"Extending that model to civilians would be a first in U.S. history."
I suspect you are running a little lean on facts and history, friend.

"Mamdani's proposal would be the first time a U.S. city operates that kind of store for everyone."
Oh you mean this?
I'll include one sentence before and after since those sentences seem very applicable here.
Mamdani's idea is "less radical than critics portray," said CNN. City-owned grocery stores have popped up in small towns like Saint Paul, Kansas and big cities like Atlanta. That makes them "more common than people are aware of," said Nevin Cohen, director of the City University of New York's Urban Food Policy Institute.

"What taxes are you referring to?"
His proposal is an income tax on high earners. However, he can't actually do that unilaterally.
This is a good article that spells out what any NYC Mayor can and can't do alone.

Let the people of NYC decide who they want representing and leading them. Zohran will have access to PhDs, academics, etc when/if he wins. To the Republicans, oligarchs, AIPAC, and Zionists, Zohran Mamdani is a dangerous avatar who can speak on behalf of the down-trodden in NYC, the US, and the world.
For the well-entrenched Tammany Hall remnants in NYC, they don't want to lose their patronage jobs, lucrative contracts, CUNY appointments, board sinecures, and father-son positions, etc.
Here is just one of many crown jewels the NYC dinosaurs don't want to lose: www.nyc.gov
1.5 million Muslims reside in the greater New York metropolitan area. See any Arab, Muslim, Pakistani names on the list? I have never seen one.
One of these well-compensated NYC Marshals with peace officer status, 'park where you please' windshield placard, and firearm, has an office across the street from a friend of mine. This NYC Marshal is doing quite well for him/herself.
Economists seem to like the Muslim upstart that the Republicans, oligarchs, slumlords, and Islamophobes all love to hate.
Zohran Mamdani's mayoral platform is a practical blueprint to tackle some of New York City's most pressing problems: www.thenation.com
