When asked by The Hill if Gallup had received any feedback from the White House or anyone in the current administration before making the decision, the spokesperson said, "this is a strategic shift solely based on Gallup's research goals and priorities."
Which is not a "No."

Odd that they would decide to "shift strategy" after 80 years.

I guess they no longer wish to even pretend they care about being a trusted source for trends and global attitudes anymore.

Good for them for being right up front about it.

I just wonder how much the bribe was.

All these spineless turds folding to Trump.

If (when) this is over, I hope every one of these orgs are held accountable and become irrelevant.

They don't deserve to slide back into their old roles and act like nothing happened.

They're kind of in a catch-22 here, since the president has already threatened to sue pollsters that publish anything that reflects badly on him.

It's a bold move. If it works out for them then I assume we soon hear that Harley is going to stop making motorcycles and McDonalds is going to stop selling burgers.

The problem that birthed this threat?

"President Donald Trump threatened legal consequences for The New York Times after a poll released by the outlet found that independent voters have soured on his leadership at the one-year mark of his second term."

Oh, well ...

Until I read this thread, I thought maybe Gallup just run out of red ink.

Gallup will have no credibility from this point on.
They can't be trusted.
Nothing they publish can be trusted.
They, like those attorneys that capitulated, have determined their fate.
Anyone, any business that gives in, should go bankrupt.
Any school that doesn't fight against Trump can't be trusted to teach the truth.

A poll is kind of an election, and we all know how Trump and his violent gang of insurrectionists feel about free and fair elections.
