Protecting our votes can easily be seen by those who are negatively impacted by those protections as a threat to democracy. No argument there. Dems lose votes when we increase the integrity of votes, so it only stands to reason they would want to remove the mechanisms used to protect that integrity. The real issue is why do Dems truly not care about what is best for the country instead of what is just best for them? It's the same type of question that Dems use when trying to figure out why Reps care more about what is best for the rich instead of what is best for the country. Unfortunately, dropping common sense and objectivity on either side is met with consternation instead of intrigue.
