A new report claims that the Secret Service has urged former President Donald Trump's campaign to stop holding large outdoor rallies in the aftermath of the attempted assassination against the former president at an outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Sources familiar with the matter told The Washington Post that Secret Service agents have reportedly relayed concerns to Trump's campaign advisors over the possibility of holding large outdoor rallies in the future. The Washington Post noted that Trump's campaign is currently looking into large indoor venues, such as sports arenas, that can hold thousands of people for future rallies. A source close to the former president said the campaign did not currently have any plans for large outdoor venues.

1) Many people all over the world want to see Trump dead.

2) That first assassination attempt... Not sure it was much more than Trump showing off.

The Secret Service is incompetent so they tell Trump he shouldn't campaign.

@#4 ... The Secret Service is incompetent so they tell Trump he shouldn't campaign. ...

More along the lines of...

The resources of the Secret Service are stretched thin because of Republican under funding of government.

So the Secret Service tells fmr Pres Trump that campaigning in indoor arenas is easier to protect him.

But it is just Republicans to complain about the ramifications of the under funding of government they campaign upon and actually do when they control the purse (i.e., the House).

@#6 ... pay his security bills? ...

Wow.

For the article in #6

... "Do we love law enforcement or what?" President Donald Trump asked a cheering crowd during his "Make America Great Again" political rally Oct. 12 in Lebanon, Ohio.

"Thank you, law enforcement!" the president later told officers, who he called "heroes."

But when Lebanon City Hall sent Trump's campaign a $16,191 invoice for police and other public safety costs associated with his event, Trump didn't respond. Trump's campaign likewise ignored Lebanon officials' follow-up reminders to cover the sum " one rich enough to fund the entire police force for nearly two days in this modest city of 21,000, between Dayton and Cincinnati.

The bill remains unpaid. ...

[emphasis mine]

So, fmr Pres Trump stiffs the law enforcement who provided protection for him during an event?

How low can a candidate go?

I was going to mention before I read the link above that the reason he's doing tiny rallies in outdoor venues is that he's stiffed enough indoor venues and cities that they want payment upfront, or they won't rent to him at all. Besides, his schtick is so old and tired, and he killed off so many of his voters with COVID (600k-700k at least) that he can no longer get much of a crowd at those indoor venues. These days, he'd have trouble filling a good-sized high school gym.

Long been the case' that we're stretched too thin, Secret Service says
www.govexec.com

... The U.S. Secret Service has been struggling for a decade to maintain the staffing it needs to ensure the safety of its protectees, a top official said on Wednesday, who explained the agency is doing the best it can with the resources it has.

Agency leaders have been adamant that it met all the resource demands placed on it ahead of former President Trump's rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday that led to an unsuccessful assassination attempt, though it conceded its workforce has and continues to be spread too thin. Matthew Noyes, the director of cyber policy and strategy in the agency's Office of Investigations, told the Aspen Security Forum that USSS is still recovering from the impacts of the budget caps first instituted across government in 2013.

Noyes said those spending limits, which were regularly increased but remained in effect for a decade, restricted hiring at USSS for several years and the agency went multiple years without hiring at all. An agency with fewer than 8,000 employees like the Secret Service, he added, feels the pain of those restrictions for a long period.

"We do the best we can with the resources we have, but we have been constrained for well over a decade now, in terms of resourcing and hiring," Noyes said. "That has a long impact in terms of increasing the staffing to do both of our incredibly important tasks." ...

I called you out on "people lining up to defend him". Lamp pointed out that you calling him "one of the most disgusting, if not the most disgusting, person on this site" is not much different. Is that not a personal attack?

Yeah, i do try to remain relevant and add to the conversation.

I do admit, however, that sometimes I do not meet that goal of mine.

For example...

Renaissance - Kiev
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt...
genius.com

...
He was a man just a simple man
His thoughts and pleasures were few
His bread he shared with his father
That was the life that he knew

[Chorus]
And how the snow fell in Kiev today
And how the wind drove the mourners away
Now there is only one man at the grave of Davorian
And this man's heart is too heavy to pray

[Verse 2]
He was a man just a simple man
Died at the place of his birth
His tombstone shared by the family
A silent place on the earth

[Chorus]
An old man stands by the side of the grave
And this man's heart is too heavy to pray
For he is numb with the pain
Of the love that he couldn't share
And two men died there in Kiev today
...

Yeah, rock music is not like that anymore.

He likes the outdoor venues because they don't cost as much, if anything. And, at this point, anyone that doesn't get cash up front before renting him any kind of space is just asking to get stiffed.
