The dotard probably wanted Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) as his VPOTUS running mate for two reasons:

1) The governor appears intellectual wearing spectacles and he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree from North Dakota State University. #45 would therefore address him as "Doctor Burgum" (or "Governor Burgum") on the campaign trail. Burgum won his two elections in landslides.

2) Doug Burgum is among the wealthiest politicians in the US with an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion. The dotard equates wealth with success and who knows what financial hardships the TCF is enduring with all the multi-million dollar litigation losses in NYS.

Burgum would have been a much more formidable VPOTUS candidate to deal with than hillbilly
J Dunce Vance.
