Stock markets across Asia plunged on Monday, following big falls last week by major indexes around the world. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 and Topix indexes were both down by almost 13% in afternoon trade. It comes after weak jobs data in the US on Friday sparked concerns about weakness in the world's largest economy.

And so it begins. Like everything Biden touches, the economy is turning to ---- while we are on the cusp of WW3 - glad we have the strategic petroleum reserve at its lowest level in 40 years to help offset the oil price spike once Iran and Israel start trading missiles. I won't even mention Intel - the Biden corporate welfare recipient now cutting 15% of its workforce (yeah, those US fabs will be way scaled back if they are ever built) and its market cap cratering 30% in a single day. The recession started in infotech 6 months ago - now it will become very broad based and will likely even hurt illegal employment - you know, the only jobs Joe has created in the last 4 years.

Days like today are when it's most clear how far ahead I am of everyone else:

I do not own stocks. I do not own --------. I do not have a retirement account.

I do own over 750 DVDs, a riverside time share in Pigeon Forge, and 112 beanie babies. Those are hard, appreciating assets unaffected by market turbulence

Don't hate the player, hate the game

Just got totally out of the market today.
A good portion of my retirement was in the market.

I'd rather plop it into savings where at least I won't be losing money on a daily basis.

Well... Google just took it on the chin with an anti trust thingie... so I'm sure tech is hurting... Real estate is overpriced... everyone is whining about an interest rate cut... auto repos are looming... COVID fluff bubble echo

Also not the first time this has happened... you don't even know how it is going to play out.

sorry you didn't plan well by diversifying ... must suck to be you... having to stand in a soup line with your single crust of bread... you can always sell them tacky gold sneakers... those jpegs... crypto... and piss away your money on another donation to a billionaire... to buy him some more lawyers... he is going to need them.

Even if you pull all your money out of the market and put under the mattress you'll be losing a solid 8 to 12 percent due to Harris/Bidenflation.

Red, I'm speaking of Monson, who miraculously perfectly timed the market and showed up today to tell us all about it. News we could have used last week. Thanks for nothing Monson.
