The natural beauty is my favorite thing about Florida. Figures DeDikwad would want to ruin it. One thing is not necessary in Florida is more golf courses.

Not a fan of Yosemite?
State parks "are the last strongholds for a lot of wildlife in rapidly urbanizing communities in Florida," said Julie Wraithmell, executive director of Audubon Florida.
Thought we were all YIMBY's now?

Um...that's not in Florida. I am a fan of Big Cypress, 40 miles of knee deep swamp. Outragously beautiful.

DeSantis is a total turd. Even the Florida Repukes don't want this stupid idea.
I Hope that's enough to stop it.
But in Florida?

John Lloyd State Park situated on the south side of the inlet from the ocean to Port Everglades was a favorite getaway place my family enjoyed all our lives and now I've read Desantis wants to build a golf course and lodge there which will eliminate a natural picnic and beach destination for residents of Broward County, incidentally Broward is the most Democratic Party stronghold in the state and Desantis knows that so we wonder....is this proposed commercislization just aimed at Democrats because we detest him so much?

Danni, the modern Republican party exists to punish Democrats for not being Republican by destroying everything Democrats value such as honor, decency, liberty for all, freedom of religion, seeking after a more perfect union, nature, and the Republic.
We have to acknowledge that this version of the Republican party serves our enemies more than they do us and the wealthy are fine with that as long as their wealth continues to increase, they are much like Germany's wealthy during the rise of the Nazi party. The authoritarian groups underlying the current Republican party are one of the threats that we and your descendants must always guard against, that kind will always be with us, waiting for their chance to seize power.

Why not?
It is difficult for billionaires to make money off of state parks.
I do have to wonder, did Gov DeSantis float this idea as he was trying to lure private equity firms to Florida?
What else might he have promised to those billionaires?
