The head of the VFW has described Trump's praising the medal of freedom as more important than the Medal of Honor as "asinine" and an insult to everyone awarded the Medal of Honor especially those who have been granted it posthumously which is sadly the norm.

What a disgusting quid pro quo. "You donate millions to me, and then I give you the nation's highest honor medal for...donating to me.

What a shame for our country that this psychopath is even seriously considered for POTUS

To be fair, most of Lewzer's award winners were athletes... not that they are poor. He also gave out the fewest (24) of any president.

Point taken.

But I still have to ask the reason why the awards were given out.

Were they given out because of an adulation for fmr Pres Trump in some manner?

Sucking up the the MAGA crowd is my bet. He gave them to Babe Ruth and Elvis as well as sportsball players.

He probably didn't give out many because he doesn't have one himself.

FDT compared "the dating game," and avoiding STD's like this:

"It's amazing, I can't even believe it. I've been so lucky in terms of that whole world, it is a dangerous world out there. It's like Vietnam, sort of. It is my personal Vietnam. I feel like a great and very brave soldier..."

and again:

"You know, if you're young, and in this era, and if you have any guilt about not having gone to Vietnam, we have our own Vietnam " it's called the dating game. Dating is like being in Vietnam. You're the equivalent of a soldier going over to Vietnam."

Both of these statements indicate, to me, that he absolutely contracted at least one STD. I'm sure veterans appreciate FDT's "sacrifice."
