X, the social-media giant owned by Elon Musk, has officially been banned in Brazil. Last night, X failed to meet a deadline set by a Supreme Court judge to block vast swathes of content and appoint a local legal representative for the company. It has now gone offline to its 22million Brazilian users " roughly one tenth of the national population

I am not "cheering". But I am enjoying watching billionaires like Elmo fail in their struggles with the free speech laws of other countries.

Maybe Elmo should have obeyed the law of that country. And then fight it in court. Like normal humans. Instead of acting like he was above the law.

The fact is any country has the right to suppress speech if it endangers the stability and the very existence of the government.

And we have to distinguish between disinformation, misinformation, and Malinformation.

The first two are about 1A.

The third goes to our Constitutional duty toward the General Welfare.

Conveniently, the morons can't tell you where 1A ends, even if it involves fatal advice, or compromising national security. They'd have you believe telling your followers "megadoses of ivermectin prevents Covid" is free speech, even if the followers are dropping like flies.
