President Xi Jinping himself attended the inauguration of the Chancay port on the Peruvian coast this week, an indication of just how seriously China takes the development.

I'm OK with China competing on an economic basis, providing that China is not just dumping cheap products on the world market to try to prop up it's economy.
I am not OK with China trying to expand territory by engorging itself upon international places such as the islands it is building in the South China Sea.

The same Lumpers worried about this, yet supported dock workers strike preventing real automation to happen at their ports.

The Chinese will always have our asses kicked six ways to Sunday.
They think long term, not for the next election cycle.
We might not like their methods or results, but many of ours are pretty unsavory.

Russia has been surpassed by China as #2 in the world some time ago; what we see from Russia buying up Iran's military arms and their messing with other country's elections is a lot of angst from that loss of status.

Not entirely true, but their election cycle is about 100 years.
