He was later indicted for illegally retaining classified material. Former Special Counsel Jack Smith dropped that case and one accusing him of attempting to subvert the results of the 2020 election after Trump's 2024 election win.

Sergio Gor, the director of the White House's Presidential Personnel Office, announced the dismissal of the archivist, at Trump's direction, on X. "We thank Colleen Shogan for her service," Gor said.

Shogan, who was not in office when the documents investigation began, said on LinkedIn that Trump had fired her without citing a reason or cause. "I have zero regrets - I absolutely did my best every day for the National Archives and the American people," she wrote. ...

She served the American people and not Pres Trump.

Possibly. There still seems to be some missing classified documents, some of the folders found at Mar-a-Lago were empty.

Who knows where the contents of those folders not reside.
wThis was after Pres Trump had said that everything was returned.


Kudos to Ms Shogan for putting the American people, and the Constitution, first and foremost with her actions.

Wow, the BS is thick in this thread. It is weird how quickly some create a false narrative without any working knowledge whatsoever.

Colleen Shogun had nothing to do with the investigation against Trump. Many would consider her right wing, judging by her anctions and her associations. I'm very surprised Trump dismissed her. A more curious mystery is why Biden appointed her in the first place.
