I disagree.

Mr Musk says such things so that Pres Trump does not have to.

Pres Trump has been cowardly hiding behind DOGE because he likes that DOGE seems to be taking all the grief for the chaos that Mr Trump is raining down upon the Federal government.

Why else would Pres Trump give a non-respectfully-dressed Mr Musk the speaking platform of the Oval office, a platform where Mr Musk spoke more than Pres Trump?
