25% Mexico and Canada Tariffs in Effect Tuesday

WASHINGTON (AP) " President Donald Trump said Monday that 25% taxes on imports from Mexico and Canada would start Tuesday, sparking renewed fears of a North American trade war that already showed signs of pushing up inflation and hindering growth. "Tomorrow " tariffs 25% on Canada and 25% on Mexico. And that'll start," Trump told reporters in the Roosevelt Room. "They're going to have to have a tariff."

But companies ranging from Ford to Walmart have warned about the negative impact that tariffs could create for their businesses. Similarly, multiple analyses by the Peterson Institute for International Economics and the Yale University Budget Lab suggest that an average family could face price increases of more than $1,000.

Starving american farmers of potash from Canada will cause a ripple- reducing yield so the price of grain and feed skyrocket so then ranchers cut back on stock since the meatpackers make the profit while ranchers subsist and then you can't afford to eat..

GOP Sen. Susan Collins on Trump's tariffs: "I'm very concerned about the tariffs going into effect. Maine and Canada's economy are integrated. Much of our lobster, blueberries are processed in Canada and then come back over. We have a paper mill in northern Maine that's right on the border."

Trumpf's portfolio is in real estate, which is how the Russian oligarchs launder their money in the West. Sinking Wall Street or hurting US farmers doesn't affect Trumpf's businesses or personal wealth (or the Kremlin for that matter). Trumpf is pauperizing us as we watch our 401K plans nose-dive.
