"We applaud the Trump administration for stepping up to end the free trade disaster that has devastated working-class communities for decades. Ending the race to the bottom in the auto industry starts with fixing our broken trade deals, and the Trump administration has made history with today's actions."

"Ending the race to the bottom in the auto industry starts with fixing our broken trade deals"

Which trade deals did Trump fix with tariffs, or was that more of an aspirational statement...

-Dude's a Moron.

what do you think you know he doesn't?

I'm not pro or against anything except I support keeping good jobs here in the US if it can be done realistically.

What's the downside to this, other than you don't like anybody supporting Trump for any reason?

For the Special Ed folks

Fain was critical of Mr. Trump during the 2024 election, even calling the now-president a "scab" during the Democratic National Convention and linking him to the closures of auto plants during his last term. However, he backed Mr. Trump earlier this month after he announced proposed tariffs against Mexico and Canada.

On Wednesday, the union said the tariffs could help bring back thousands of more automotive jobs across the U.S.

"The UAW has encouraged the Trump administration to take clear, aggressive action to bring back good, union auto jobs," the union said in a news release. "We are heartened by the significant measures they have announced today, and we urge the administration to take similar action to protect and reshore the heavy truck sector. Beyond tariffs, a continued, dramatic shift in our country's trade agreements and economic policies will be necessary to end the free trade disaster."

I know it burdens your hearts that union leaders are praising Trump, but you really look like psychos who want the working people to fail for the sole purpose of saying you were right.

Let your hearts now be unburdened by what has been...

"What's the downside to this"

A tariff is a tax on Americans.

Meanwhile, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, and Mitsubishi all have plants in the US.

What's the upside?

Before, or after Fain spoke at the Republican National Convention?

I gave you the CBS version of the story and you somehow can't figure it out... Would you like the Daily Caller or Gateway Pundit version instead?

"before"

So, the claim it was during the campaign is inaccurate.

what's the definition of "the campaign"? It doesn't start until the convention? I don't know but I suspect the campaign is defined broader than that...meaning it starts long before the convention.

and nobody really cares about that claim anyway. He WAS critical and NOW he supports him specifically because of these tariffs.

Is that accurate?

Republicans are now calling Free Trade "the free trade disaster."

Is that accurate?

If you're asking me, I don't know what republicans are calling it.

I'm just focusing on what Spain wants and why.

The price increase on cars "assembled" in America is expected to $5-10 thousand dollars.

To be paid by Americans.

I heard some yokel on POTUS radio trying to Trumpsplain the Plan.

Which is to bring manufacturing back to America. By punishing Americans. They want to move foreign manufacturing back to American companies with "excess capacity". And they want you to pay for all it.

The American oligarchs have gotten all the profit their can squeeze from allowing cheap foreign labor to make them oodles of profit and now they are gonna squeeze more from Americans and make them pay for bringing the manufacturing back that they made billions on sending overseas.

Sorry America. You are going to go through some things. You voted for this.

And that's how democracy works. When you turn it over to the oligarchy.

You need to provide some facts behind what you're saying here. Otherwise, you're just talking in circles - bEcAuSe oRaNgE mAn bAd!!!

If union leadership is backing this move by Trump and Co., You either need to show your math on why you're smarter than they are, or go craw under a rock because its all --------. But the optics say it's beginning to look like democrats will throw labor under the bus just because they support someone making moves in their best interest.

Just like you hate POC and women when they leave the plantation.

I hate Unions, that's a good one.
I'm an inactive member in my old union.
When I quit I made sure to stay in the union and switch to Inactive.

But, I would still like to see their math.
I'm a facts guy, not a hurt feelings guy like you.

Then people will want to buy them.
