... Rumors of a Tumblr comeback have been bubbling for a couple of years"think a pair of Doc Martens here, a splash of pastel hair dye there. Now, Gen Z is embracing the platform as a refuge from an internet saturated with influencers and algorithm fatigue.

Launched in 2007, just ahead of Instagram's 2010 debut, Tumblr, with its blog-style format, encouraged users to craft personal aesthetics and immerse themselves in niche communities -- where American Apparel tennis skirts, oversize flannels, and black wire chokers once reigned supreme.

At its peak in early 2014, the platform had more than 100 million users and was often mentioned in the same breath as Facebook and other rising social media giants. ...

Trump should buy it (with other people's money)... and rename it Dumblr.

Why not just have open discussion and news sites where speech was free and spam and porn and gross hate is verboten. Kind of like we once had in the many news media outlets from local newspapers to NPR and prior to pay wall and public opinion and comments banned and replaced so as to keep the public politicized and uninformed.

You make the mistake of assuming Democrats desire free speech. They don't. They desire controlled speech.

Which platform is the GOP trying to shut down for allowing too much free speech? You need a time machine to answer that question to go back to the time when the parties' positions on free speech were reversed back in the early 2000s. Since then, the Dems have been the party of policing speech - with your left wing equivalents in the UK jailing people over memes.

Just listing what the Trump Administration has erased, silenced, altered, threatened, sued, shut down and destroyed would take more effort than I care to expend.

There's a reason you're a deplorable Trumping MAGAt troll.

All you got is ignorance, anger and hate.

"Which platform is the GOP trying to shut down for allowing too much free speech?"

Every Federal Government web page is being censored directly by the Trump administration.

The government choosing not tonpromote nonsense ideas...

Like that women and black people were army air force pilots in WW2?

"The government choosing not tonpromote nonsense ideas on their websites is not a violation of freedom of speech dipshit."

Regardless of any legal violations, you asked which sites is the government shutting down for allowing too much free speech.
The answer is still government sites.

One "platform" the GOP is trying to shut down for allowing too much free speech is a thing called "Science":

More than 1,900 scientists and engineers have signed a letter saying they "see real danger in this moment" as the Trump administration slashes federal support for scientific research.

"The quest for truth " the mission of science " requires that scientists freely explore new questions and report their findings honestly, independent of special interests," the letter says. "The administration is engaging in censorship, destroying this independence."

"A climate of fear has descended on the research community," National Academies members write in the letter. "We are sending this SOS to sound a clear warning: the nation's scientific enterprise is being decimated."

We all saw the 'science' you dipshits were running with USAID money. Sorry, your dipshit liberal NGOs will need to convince the free market to fund them - not the taxpayer.

You do a wonderful job of playing the part of the 'deadender' - the guy that has utterly failed at everything in his life but it is never his fault. Plus, despite never generating any wealth in their personal life, they are an expert on all things economics. Keep in mind, their economic expertise is only their hobby as their true calling is as a vaccine and climate change expert.

Always uninformed - but always 100% self-confident in repeating whatever talking points they are fed.

So.
Are you gonna explain WHY you want the United States to cede global leadership in science?
Don't you think there's ROI on science?
