Gov. Abbott Deploys Over 5,000 Texas National Guard troops

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) " Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Thursday he has ordered the deployment of more than 5,000 Texas National Guard troops, along with more than 2,000 state police, to help local law enforcement manage protests against President Donald Trump and the ongoing federal immigration raids.

And here I thought for a second that Governor Abbott was deploying 5,000 TXARNG personnel to help deal with the flooding.

Except the Texas economy would collapse if they did so.

I remember seeing a review of the movie Civil War in which they commented that it was odd to choose Texas and California as allies.

Seeing things unfold, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump found a way to do that.
