The House Ethics Committee is investigating four-term congressman Lance Gooden (R-TX). The Office of Congressional Conduct, an independent investigative branch of the House, transmitted their findings regarding Gooden to the committee 10 June. In 2022, Gooden said he would "absolutely welcome" a trucker blockade of Washington DC over COVID vaccine mandates. Worse, in 2021 Gooden was among 21 House Republicans who voted against awarding medals for USCP officers who had defended the US Capitol on 6 Jan 2021 against marauding MAGA insurrectionists. Gooden is the seventh Republican under investigation by the House Ethics Committee so far this year |
