"The House ethics committee"

Thanks for the laugh. The GOP have no ethics.

@#2 ... Thanks for the laugh. The GOP have no ethics. ...

Yeah, the thing to watch is not the performative announcement of an investigation, but the actual results of that investigation.

Will it just be a glossing over of any actual ethical violations?

Or might a GOP member of Congress actually be held responsible?

Time will tell ...

These "ethics probes" usually appear to go nowhere. The problem often seems to lie with the investigators, the old the foxes guarding the hen house problem. In order to get into Congress many of these folks are already so compromised that they are utterly incapable of carrying out that task in a legitimate fashion. It's like asking a mob of used car salesmen to police the used car industry. That said, every once in a while the pols realize they have to cut one of their own loose as a sacrifice so the game may go on.

Ethics violation in this time of Trump is just another way of saying someone is on the outs with the gang running things. Trump is a walking, talking ethics violation...his crypto shenanigans alone in previous days would have earned him an impeachment.

Trump's teleprompter guy - by the way, when did teleprompters stop being tools of the devil for the Republican ignorami? - got zapped for predictive bets garnering him something south of a hundred grand. You can bury that story in laughter, considering the rampant insider trading Trunp and his entitled gang of suit-and-tie gangsters engage in as a normal part of their day: doing our business by doing us.
