A former official with the Hays County Republican Party has been sentenced to more than 400 years in prison after pleading guilty to child sexual abuse and child pornography charges. Bo Michael Dresner, 44, pleaded guilty to 65 counts of continuous sexual abuse of multiple children and possession of child pornography with intent to promote, according to court records. State District Judge Gary Steel sentenced Dresner to consecutive 75-year sentences on each of four counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child.

How unsurprising.

Republicans are pedophiles.

Which is why they want to prevent children from learning about sex in elementary schools.

Easier to rape ignorant children who don't understand what you're doing to them.

He can't explain why children get sexually assaulted.

But he doesn't want to do anything about it either.

His word isn't affected by pedophiles raping kids.

So it doesn't matter to him.

Eberly,
Not to sideline your comedy routine, which I am enjoying,
but I'll spell it out for you:

Should little kids be taught about adults who prey on kids?
Many if not most conservatives will say they are too young to understand.
So what's the age it's okay to teach kids about child predators in public schools?
The conservative view is that it never okay to teach that in public schools, because it violates parental control.

Conservative parents want parents to be the gatekeepers of that kind of information.
Conservative parents pretend they are blind to the fact that some parents will never teach their kids.

You might also take a look at unwanted teen pregnancy rates and teen birth rates.
They're higher in states run by Conservatives.
Again, this is by design; design Conservatives pretend not to see, even as they're the ones doing it.

Teen Birth Rate by State: Dominated by Red States.
www.cdc.gov

Teen Pregnancy Rate By State: Dominated by the same Red states.
"The teen pregnancy rate in the United States has been declining in the past 20 years. In 2018, the United States teen birth rate was 17.4 births per 1,000 females between the ages of 15 and 19. In 2019, it decreased to 16.9. Despite these lower rates, the U.S. continues to have the highest teen pregnancy rate of all developed nations."

Sure.

The point I was making is. It seems republicans, who are the "most concerned" about groomers, tend to be more likely to be pedophiles.

They also seem more lenient towards rapists.

There are certainly age-appropriate ways to teach kids about pedophilia.

In early development it involves teaching the kids bodily autonomy, self-confidence and that they are in control of who touches them.

It seems to me one of the biggest vulnerabilities for a child is when they are afraid to say NO to an adult.

Someone should be teaching this in some form or fashion to kids much earlier than age 8. My son and DIL are saying to their daughter, "If an adult ever wants to tell you to keep a secret, you come tell us."

Part of that is teaching young children to respect and expect bodily autonomy.

You don't touch people unless you have their permission. Hitting or hugging, doesn't matter.

"Law-enforcement, seemingly overwhelmingly supports Republicans. You think that's because they are lenient towards rapists and pedophiles?"

Law enforcement also overwhelmingly abuses their spouses more than average.

You think that's because they are lenient towards intimate partner abuse among law enforcement?

My answer is yes to both questions.

They're also lenient on things like steroid use when it's them doing it. Or even just reckless driving.

I think Republicans are more apt to look the other way, and write these things off. Just blowing off steam is how Rush Limbaugh excused it, and I think the vast majority of Republicans agree with Deplorable Rush.

It's a tribalism attitude. "It's okay when we do it" is something Republicans can relate to when it's their daughter that needs an abortion.

It's all about keeping it in the family.

You know what I'm talking about.
Everybody knows what I'm talking about.

I'm speaking strictly about my seemingly heterosexual friends, married in longtime relationships, and I'm saying it here behind the cloak of anonymity.

I think parenting gives one a certain perspective and maturity that parentless couples do not and never will possess.

I'm not discounting the loss of beloved pets, or long-term caring for elderly parents or brain-affected spouses or siblings. I've done them.

But parenting is different.

Grandparenting is ------- unreal.

A dear friend of my wife's goes back to the days when they were certified hippie chicks. Used to see the Allman Bros. for free in Piedmont Park.

They reconnect at my wife's 40th birthday. As I've pieced together the story, the friend was so traumatized by her late-ish second-term abortion that she gave up the hippie life to become a certified Jesus freak.

She now is a fundie evangelical of about the worst sort, and a Republican with a great-grandchild. She'll talk to me regularly in the, what is it, Mommy Jesus Voice about being saved. Regarding the politics, I'd put her in the Bellringer part of the party.

She also doesn't drink and smokes dope through the day. Somehow, the latter makes up for the former.

"I don't think we should teach little johhny about -------- just yet. He's a 3rd grader" - common parent in the world

Parents "protecting" their children like this are the pedophiles best helper.

Teach your kids about bad touch. It doesn't have to be anything graphic or obscene, but open a dialogue about other people touching them and let them know that if it happens that you are a person they can trust to be told.

The parents that never want to discuss these issues because of the THEIR fee fees are not doing their children any favors. Parents NEED to be on guard. The parents who stick their heads in the sand and ignore the real world feed the pipeline of children that priests, pastors, youth ministers, scout leaders and youth sports coaches prey on.

It's not apparent to you obviously but parents being parentsare the best way to protect their kids from predators.

And I'm not saying what little Johhny should hear or not hear. I'm not an educator and I'm willing to listen to them.

I'm saying it's a reasonable discussion to have rather than having a dissenting opinion being shouted down as being a pedo or helping a pedo.

which is absurd.

I'm saying it's a reasonable discussion to have rather than having a dissenting opinion being shouted down as being a pedo or helping a pedo.

The only people who benefit from ignorant children are pedophiles.

Republicans have passed numerous laws prohibiting any discussion about, well, pretty much anything in public schools.

Republicans, time and again, are also found to be pedophiles.

It doesn't take a degree in psychology to understand that the majority of Republicans are pedophiles.

Hell, republicans have passed laws preventing abortions for raped children who have gotten pregnant through ------.

Are those the parents you believe should be teaching their kids?

You must. Since they have kids and apparently that's your only prerequisite for what's necessary to know how to raise a kid.
