Republican senators told tech billionaire Elon Musk at a closed-door meeting Wednesday that his aggressive moves to shrink the federal government will need a vote on Capitol Hill, sending a clear message that he needs to respect Congress's power of the purse.

"GOP lawmakers say Musk's failure to brief them in advance about impending cuts and funding freezes - or to respond to their questions and concerns about actions taken by DOGE - reflected his belief that he thought the administration could largely bypass them by simply impounding funds lawfully appropriated by Congress.

Musk, for example, revealed Wednesday he wasn't aware that Congress could pass a rescissions package through the Senate with a simple majority vote, rather than the 60-vote threshold usually needed to pass controversial bills through the upper chamber."

Most of those clowns have no idea what a dongle is, let alone the fundamentals for understanding what President Leon is up to. Just another performative exercise.

Seems that would get them on record as either supporting or not supporting what Musk is doing. Interesting. Maybe the GOP feels they have elections rigged enough they can't lose.

"The president later told reporters he wants Cabinet members to "keep all the people you want, everybody that you need."

"And it would be better if they were there for two years instead of two weeks, because in two years, they'll know the people better," he added. "But I want them to do the best job they can, where we have good people, that's precious."

Yeah, that's precious alright. How did he fool all these Trumpers, ever?

I don't have problem with this at all. Present the goods so they can show their vote.

Look at them trying to rear up on their hind legs, it's adorable!

Elon needs to fire twice as many government employees from their heaviest supported districts, and they will fall in line.

There won't be a single gopper mentioned in the next edition of Profiles in Courage.

Please Sir, may I have another!

Here in Okiehomie our cowardly lion of a senior senator, James Langford, is expressing concerns about job cuts around the military bases. He wants to help! No pol in the Sooner or Later State is saying the "D" word any more, just weeks after clamoring to join the DOGE train to a better world. Everyone sees what is happening and the pain that will be felt here because of the job cuts, but no one dare speak the names of those responsible...

FIRE MUSK

All of this opposition from Republicans aren't going to do them much good if their constituents don't know about it. They need to be loud and public so that their constituents know that their "champion" is fighting for them.
