President Donald Trump is expected to announce new tariffs on auto imports at the White House at 4 p.m. Wednesday. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that Trump had added the event at a press briefing Wednesday afternoon. It follows Trump's saying on Monday that he would be announcing new tariffs involving auto imports "over the next few days, probably." Trump had already decoupled auto imports from a series of reciprocal tariffs he is widely expected to announce next Wednesday, on April 2, a day he has referred to as "liberation day." As part of those tariffs, he is expected to raise import tariffs to match those levied against U.S. exports to those countries.

"liberation day."

As in, the day auto workers are liberated from their jobs.

Do tariffs make my Subaru more valuable? Do Tariffs create value in the used car market, by raising the price on new cars?

Economics were never one of his strong points. The only thing he's worse at is telling the truth... about anything.

He depends on the credulity of the Cult, and the attacks on the Courts and the Media... and attacking Candida, Greenland, and Panama... to distract them and entertain them.

Of course, they are pretty distracted already by trying to make a living while only being given less than half of a good education. At a time when Trump is privatizing that.

Like billionaires did with Health Care once they made Money Speech and bought almost ALL of the Politicians. They made a lot more Oligarchs that way, and you can never have too few billionaires if you are a Republican.

Candida, ha!

He would never attack fungal infections; he and that yeast have too much in common.

Because we should allow other countries to put tariffs on our products but we shouldn't be allowed to put the same tariffs on theirs? Sorry, the days of you buying cheap Chinese crap and destroying American industry are over.

And now it will cost much more to do so. So, why aren't you happy? You do agree that raising the cost to produce the MAGA merchandise in China is a good thing, right?

Real automakers are down while Tesla stock is up today.

Almost as if Trump is willing to trash an entire industry to throw a few bones to "richest man in the world Senior President Muskrat." And of course, the stock manipulation will enrich Trump.

Won't stop Tesla from crashing and burning, though. Because no one wants Muskrat's garbage cars, no matter how much of a loss he's willing to sell them at.

Elon musk could single handedly end world hungry for a while.

Instead he's choosing to destroy social security.

Plenty of other ways to cut greenhouse gases than buying trash cars from Tesla and giving Musk more money to elect Republicans who destroy our environmental laws.

Hey dumb dumb.

There are several other car manufacturers making electric cars.

But, it's fascinating seeing republicans go from hating Musk and electric vehicles, to slobbing on his knob and selling the family farm to buy a Tesla.

Tesla is not the only electric car manufacturer. Lots of my liberal Cali friends are selling and moving on to other makes.
