Of course he did. The crash he intentionally started by illegally firing millions of middle class federal workers.
To personally profit by shorting the market.
And, as typical with TikTok trash orchestrated by Russia and China, it tries to spin Trump's malicious incompetence and corruption as a good thing.
It claims that Warren Buffett claimed it was genius move. Which he did not, and Berkshire Hathaway issued a statement immediately to that effect.
Also, hilarious that it claims the stock crash is no biggie because the top 8% own 94% of stock, so we shouldn't care that we lost a couple hundred grand in our retirement fund because rich people suffered more. As if Elon Musk's standard of living is going to drop because he's worth $400 billion instead of $600 billion. And as if the income inequality Trump works towards is a positive.

Trump Shares Video Claiming He's Crashing Stock Market on Purpose www.newsweek.com
... The video, which originally comes from TikTok user @wnnsa11, was posted to X on Thursday evening by pro-Trump account "AmericanPapaBear," and claimed that Trump is playing a "secret game" which could "make you rich." The video's voiceover says: "So why is he doing this? To push cash into treasuries which forces the Fed to slash interest rates in May and those lower rates give the Fed the ability to refinance trillions of debt very inexpensively. It also weakens the dollar and drops mortgage rates. Now it's a wild chess move but it's working." The video continues: "You're probably wondering what about his tariffs, well I'll tell you; it's a genius play. It actually forces companies to build here to dodge them, it also forces farmers to sell more of their products here in the U.S. to bring grocery prices way down. Now remember, 94 percent of all stocks are owned by only 8 percent of Americans, so Trump he's taking from the rich short term and handing it to the middle class through lower prices." ...

OK, my first question is ...
If Pres Trump is doing this on purpose, why did not he say this is what he wanted to do?
Or is this "on purpose" excuse merely a typical Trumpian backward-looking attempted rationalization of the damage he may be causing?

This is so dumb.
Tariffs are by Executive Order and will be undone before the business cycle can make a complete turn from "We have to undo Neutron Jack Welch and Start Manufacturing Domestic Again" to "Products On Shelves."

@#8 ... It actually forces companies to build here ...
OK, one question ...
Why were there no, ZERO, CEOs on that stage with Pres Trump announcing their intent to spend billions of shareholder dollars to build new factories in the US?
Not one CEO.

"It actually forces companies to build here"
It literally does the opposite.
The only reason it makes sense for a lot of global high tech companies to be in the US is Uncle Sam is not only a big customer but also funds a lot of the domestic market.
I went to grad school with a guy who went down the science track and he's been studying blood cancers for ten years on NIH grants and now he's looking for work.
The United States used to be friendly to global corporations. Now it is hostile.
If EU can pick up this slack, the industry will follow the market.

Trump (or future President Jethro) may be able to pardon himself from federal charges for his stock manipulation, but best of luck fighting off investor lawsuits for the rest of eternity for the $11 trillion in losses (so far, and that's just in the U.S.) that his corruption has caused.

That would imply mediocrity has a plan.

He certainly knew this would happen in reaction to these tariffs. It's a matter of how long this would last. Again, everybody in his ear would have told him this.

It is a combination of bullying and religious thinking. "Follow me into stupidity! Ignore the flames on the walls! Keep walking! There will be better days!" I am sure that at some point in the future, after he has left office, some fool will say "see! he was right!"
