... The risks for children of mothers with diabetes during pregnancy were 25% higher for autism, 30% higher for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and 32% higher for intellectual disability. They were also 20% higher for trouble with communication, 17% higher for movement problems and 16% higher for learning disorders than in children whose mothers did not have diabetes while pregnant.

Diabetes diagnosed before pregnancy appeared to confer a 39% higher risk for one or more of these neurodevelopmental disorders compared with gestational diabetes that begins in pregnancy and often resolves afterward, the researchers reported in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology. ...

Then there's this ...

Kennedy says HHS will determine the cause of autism by September
www.nbcnews.com

... The nation's top health agency will undertake a "massive testing and research effort" to determine the cause of autism, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Thursday.

Kennedy, a longtime vaccine critic who has pushed a discredited theory that routine childhood shots cause the developmental disability, said the effort will be completed by September and involve hundreds of scientists. He shared the plans with President Donald Trump during a televised Cabinet meeting.

Trump suggested that vaccines could be to blame for autism rates, although decades of research have concluded there is no link between the two. ...

So...Heroin Bob has a pack of deep thinkers who in six months will be able to crack the autism case, underway for decades in various studies by scientists world-wide. Uh huh. Bob's medical gang will probably include luminaries such as Dr. Johnny Fever, Dr. Demento, Dr. Feelgood, Dr. Detroit, Dr. Strange, Dr. Zhivago, Dr. Elmer Hoffman, Dr. Cockroach and Doc Octopus...

You joke, but it will be a parade of charlatans familiar to anyone who has followed the anti-vaxx movement over the years regurgitating anti-vaxx propaganda we've already heard under the guise of new "studies."

@#9 ... You joke, but it will be a parade of charlatans ...

Yup.

The usual Republican ~investigation~ that, surprisingly, seems to produce results that agree with the [erroneous] opinions they held going into the investigation.~

For starters, I would want to see the scientific basis behind tht investigation.

Will Sec Kennedy release those details?

Will Sec Kennedy release those details?

They'll release "details" alright.

But they'll be complete garbage, rife with misinformation, outright lies and poor methods (where methods are even given...).

And any scientist who speaks out against it will be labeled as a "puppet of industry."
