My friend defended this practice last night saying they were afraid of being doxed.

My reply was "So what?" If you are doing something you believe in, why should you be afraid of being identified? They should be REQUIRED to identify themselves to members of the public otherwise there is no accountability. They are public servants and the claim is they are going after bad guys - you know like the former US Military interpreter from Afghanistan allowed legally into the country who showed up for his hearing and was arrest prior to it on the silly "improvidently" issued claim they are blanket using now.

This isn't Mexico where the cartel will come for you and all your family to torture and kill you and they aren't raiding cartel operations. If you don't feel strongly enough about the job to do it and be identified doing it, find a new job.

Besides we have had many cases in the past year of masked people pretending to be police and committing crimes. I am not talking about the lunatic in Minnesota either.
