Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, July 01, 2025

One thing that continues to surprise me is just how big the US economy is, at least in nominal aka US dollar terms. The map above shows you could split the US economy in 3 and it would be the #1, #3 and #4 biggest economies.

Yea, but the U.S. sucks.

Liberals told us so.

Boaz posted this thread so that the entire United States economy could be the victim of liberals.

That's dedication.

The US sucks because of MAGAts. You've destroyed this once great nation.
Time will tell if we can or will recover.

The stunning amount of BLUE states in that image shows just who is pulling the weight. Who is successful by almost 2 to 1:

California $3,870,000,000,000
New York $2,170,000,000,000
Illinois $1,100,000,000,000
Pennsylvania $980,000,000,000
Washington $810,000,000,000
New Jersey $810,000,000,000
Massachusetts $740,000,000,000
Virginia $720,000,000,000
Blue State Total: $11,200,000,000,000

Texas $2,580,000,000,000
Florida $1,600,000,000,000
Ohio $880,000,000,000
Georgia $830,000,000,000
North Carolina $790,000,000,000
Red State Total: $6,680,000,000,000

@#1 ... Liberals told us so. ...

Really?

It seems to be the MAGA folk who are doing all the whining of late.

@#3 ...
Blue State Total: $11,200,000,000,000

Red State Total: $6,680,000,000,000
...

A good summary.

That summary seems to be indicative of the contribution of the Blue states to the welfare of the Red states.

And, to be honest, I have no issue with my [usually-Blue] state helping other Americans, regardless of the state they live in.

In that respect, I guess I disagree with Sen Cruz who seemed to be opposed to helping the Northeast Blue states devastated by Superstorm Sandy, but then a few year later turned around and seemed to beg for assistance for his home Red state that was hit by a hurricane.

The hypocrisy of the GOP is rampant.

#3 Yav this is an irrelevant number

I live in California, but I and many of my colleagues would rather live North Carolina, or Idaho, even horsts Montana.

Not really sure what the point the GDP number means when it's computed using HSR boondoggle.

CA is ranked forth in GDP per capita, and ranked #1 in income inequality.

Is that what we are bragging about here? Rich get richer the poor stay poor?

"It means nothing to an intelligent engineer."

Positive and negative numbers mean nothing to an engineer?!?

Since when???

"CA is ranked ... #1 in income inequality."

Well, of course it is.

Anyplace with the greatest opportunities will reflect the greatest income inequalities.

You either understand that macro, or you don't.

You clearly don't.

Is this where Onenut reveals he's the "intelligent engineer"? That'll be so fun!

You're part of the "Make America Great Again" crew who are saving it from liberals.

Figure out your messaging.

Also, we aren't saying America sucks. We're saying all the actions Trump and republicans are taking, especially the big beautiful bill, is really going to hurt both Americans and America. Especially future generations.

OneNut is great at gaslighting and misinformation.

Currently he's doing the former.

For a supposed Californian. OneNut sure does hate California.

So, why don't your current alias and its colleagues move to those staes?

I mean really.

Why don't you move?

Yeah, you noticed that also.

That trolling current alias seems to be more focused upon disruption than contribution, imo.

That aside, I do enjoy the ignorant humor of what it posts.
